Who We AreThere is power in many. This simple yet powerful concept drives the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation

Corporate Citizenship Center (CCC). CCC helps advance the positive social, economic, and environmental

impact of business. The Center works to educate the public and the business community on the positive efforts

of business through best-in-class communications, fact-based research, and a convening power that brings

together key business and policy leaders. CCC is a program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, a

501(c)3 dedicated to strengthening America’s long-term competitiveness.

“Intel is committed to applying technology and the talents of our employees to connect and enrich the lives of every person on earth. Our ApproachThe U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation Corporate Citizenship Center (CCC) makes a difference by

supporting the social and charitable efforts of business in communitites. We lend a voice to business’ efforts to

address social challlenges, deliver insights business can use, and make connections that imporve outcomes.

Our powerful business network and issues-based framework allows CCC to aggregate resources and expertise

from business leaders, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and other issue-expert organizations. The framework

identifies most of the areas where businesses invest their social and charitable resources and allows like-minded

practitioners and organizations to connect with each other around the issues they care about most.

At CCC, we know that when a coalition of business convenes around an issue, real change and impact occurs.

This is the basis of CCC’s annually-selected Issue Networks. Priority Issue Networks are selected each year

at CCC’s Leadership Circle Summit. These Issue Networks are lead by small groups of executives from CCC’s

Leadership Circle supporters allowing business to harness their collective power to drive real change.

RESEARCH

CCC insights provide much-needed best practices, data, and analysis on how businesses impact society. Through our Business for Good Map, research reports, research briefs, and company stories, CCC provides leading expertise and intelligence. Research topics range across our areas of focus and provide direction to companies and nonprofit partners to improve and maximize their corporate citizenship initiatives and investments.

BUSINESS FOR GOOD MAP

At CCC, we know businesses make a positive difference around the globe. Our knowledge is now yours. The Business for Good Map is your tool to learn where and how companies invest in creating a better, more sustainable world.

CCC’s interactive map broadcasts how businesses are tackling the world’s problems, where gaps exist, and where partnerships can be forged.

ENVIRONMENTAL INNOVATION MAP

The Environmental Innovation Map highlights businesses improving the environment through their core business activities and cutting-edge programs. Its goal is to showcase emergent businesses, products, or processes that you may not have heard about, but everyone should know about. Each company on the map has taken a bold step to make sustainability a core enterprise of their business.

The projects that appear on the map focus on:

• Initiatives that deviate from well-known practices in the business sector,

• Initiatives that reach beyond current industry for environmental solutions, and

• Initiatives that exhibit creative, novel approaches to long-standing environmental challenges.

DISASTER CORPORATE AID TRACKERS

CCC is the “keeper of record” for business’ response to disasters and regularly initiates trackers detailing how companies have responded to specific disasters. Companies use the tracker to benchmark their giving against other companies.

“Spending time with Deloitte executives gave me a deeper appreciation for their innovative collaboration with College Summit. It’s gratifying to see Deloitte win the U.S. Chamber’s prestigious Partnership Award, and I hope it serves as a model for other corporate-nonprofit relationships.”

— Don Cheadle, Award-Winning Actor and College Summit Founding Spokesperson

REPORTS AND BRIEFS

CCC aims to broadcast the many different ways that companies add social value whether it is through their products and services, supply chains, operations or their human, financial, and technical resources. We do this through Issue Network-driven reports as well as research briefs that investigate the unparalleled force of the business sector. Every year, CCC releases case study reports which showcase and expand upon the role of business in tackling social, economic and environmental challenges. The reports and briefs also explore the connections between business and society. The subject matter of reports is determined by Issue Network leaders, awards, communications, events, and programming.

CITIZENS AWARDS

Every year, CCC assembles business leaders to recognize the best in business through our Corporate Citizenship Awards. The Citizens Awards honor businesses for their impact and leadership in solving social challenges. Individual companies, accredited Chambers of Commerce, and industry associations are eligible to apply or be nominated by a third party during the nomination season.

“At KPMG, we believe corporate responsibility is the platform that influences our engagement with—and impact on—all our constituencies. It includes the values that guide us, the decisions we make, our actions within and beyond our firm, and the resulting consequences. Our alliance with The Foundation helps us stay engaged and have a voice on issues of public and social significance.”

— Kathy Hopinkah Hannan, National Managing Partner, Diversity and Corporate Responsibility, KPMG LLP

The programming is set annually by CCC’s Leadership Circle to address that year’s most pressing issues. We all know the positive impact business makes in communities. And, when business works together, with each other and with nonprofits and governments, the difference can be dramatic.

“The U.S. Chamber Foundation brings together thought leaders from private enterprise, government, academia, and the NGO community to discuss the role of business in society. The ability to learn best practices, work with talented Foundation staff, and convene with our peers affords global multinationals like DSM a veritable one-stop shop to meet our needs with respect to sustainable strategies in a business context.” - Hugh Welsh, President, DSM North America
