Stewardship Reflection
Paul and Barnabas encountered both violent rejection and joyful acceptance of the message that they preached. We, too, may meet with mixed reactions when we use our gifts in the service of God. But, the Gospel assures us, the reward for those who follow faithfully is eternal life.
POPE ’S INTENTIONS FOR APRIL 2016 Universal: Fami l ies in Di f f iculty: T h at fam i l i e s i n n e e d may receive the necessary support and that chi ldren may grow up in hea lthy and peaceful envi ronments . Evangel izat ion: Persecuted Chris t ians: T h at th o se Chri st ians who, on account of their fa ith, are d iscr iminated against or a re being persecuted, may remain st rong and fa ithful to the Gospel, thanks to the incessant prayer o f the Church.
Prayer for Vocations
God our Father, we thank you for calling men and women to serve in your Son’s Kingdom as priests, deacons, religious, and consecrated persons. Send your Holy Spirit to help us respond generously and courageously to your call. May our community of faith support
vocations of sacrificial love in our youth. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one
God, for ever and ever. Amen. OUR LADY OF PEACE PARISH

The term Good shepherd is so familiar with us as Catholics. Not only in the New Testament does Jesus call himself a shepherd but in the Old Testament God is also referred to as a shepherd. Certainly in both Old and New Testaments, a shepherd was attributed to God as a Good Shepherd.
Today's gospel is the super short one. Nevertheless this Gospel tells us perfectly all about the quality of a good shepherd who is our Lord Jesus Christ. He considers us as the most precious gift from his Father "what my Father has given me is greater than all else, and no one can snatch it out of the Father's hand. The Father and I are one." (Jn 10.29.30)
Talking about the good shepherd we may
tend to refer only to our leaders rather than reflect on how we are all shepherds to one another and we must try to live our lives reflecting on Jesus' shepherding. Shepherding here is nothing different than the kingly mission that we all share with Jesus Christ through our Baptism. It is service that we must go farther to give up our lives to our brothers and sisters. The best prize for our service to one another is eternal life promised by our Good Shepherd who we reflect on in today's gospel "I give them eternal life" (Jn 10.28)
We all want to be children of God. It is our best choice as well as our best gift from God. On this Sunday of Good Shepherd we pray that all of us may constantly strive to live out our dignity as God's children, brothers and
sisters of our big brother, Jesus Christ, the Good Shepherd. Service is the only thing that we must focus on if we are really God's children. Jesus set his example of the best service for us when he totally gave up his life for us all.
Sincerely yours in Christ
Fr. Peter Thang Nguyen Your pastor.
