After almost two centuries working for the building industry, zinc is constantly reinventing itself

and yet remains the same.

The société des Mines et Fonderies de Zinc de la Vieille Montagne, renamed VMZINC®,

is celebrating its 180th anniversary this year. At each stage of its development, it ensured that the zinc it produces perpetuates and

strengthens its unique qualities, which guarantee its functionality and its expressiveness. With zinc, we are dealing with pertinent

continuities, those found in Architecture between roofs and facades,

between the old and the new, the city centre and the suburbs,

Europe and major cities around the world.

VMZINC is the international brand name of rolled zinc products. It has been manufacturing a wide range of rolled zinc products and transformed products

used primarily for building envelopes since 1837. This extensive range of products and systems reflects the wealth of professional and practical experience

and the variety of climates and standards that VMZINC® is designed to meet worldwide. VMZINC products and systems can be divided into five main areas

of application:

耐用性 / Long lasting

锌是一种卓越耐久的金属材料，具有天然的抗腐蚀性。锌可在表面形成致密的钝化保护层，从而使其保持一个极慢的腐蚀率。实验检测及跟踪表明，锌的平

均腐蚀率为1微米/年，根据环境的不同，0.7mm钛锌板可使用70至100年。

Zinc is naturally resistant to corrosion, it protects itself by developing a patina that gives it an exceptional long life span. With an average corrosion rate of

1µm/year, even 0,70 mm rolled zinc can achieve 70 to 100 years life depending on the environment.

低维护 / Low maintenance

钛锌板表面钝化层与板材融为一体，不会剥离、脱落，对于表面划痕具有自我修复功能。不断产生的钝化保护层，使表面始终保持光滑，雨水冲刷即可实现

表面自洁。

It does not have a coating or varnish that wears out over time and needs to be reapplied. Thanks to its self-protecting principle, no chemical products are

required for cleaning.

绿色材料 / Green material

锌是一种完全天然的材料，广泛存在于大自然中。同时，锌也是人体和任何生物都不可或缺的元素之一。钛锌板是100%可被回收和循环利用的绿色材料。

由于其耐久性和低维护性，钛锌板已然成为自然环保的绿色建材典范。

Zinc is vital and essential for nature and humans. It is durable and 100% recyclable. Its long lasting combined with the its low maintenance features make

zinc a model building material for the protection of the environment.

VMZINC provides the freedom to create architectural masterpieces which are difficult to realize with other construction materials. Zinc resolves a large

number of design issues and allows interesting treatments of corners and angles, creating an almost infinite variety of shapes: straight, curved, convex or

concave.

表现出色的合金 / Top performing alloy

VMZINC rolled zinc is alloyed with copper and titanium to produce a material with optimum mechanical and physical characteristics for building

applications, particularly with regard to mechanical resistance and creep resistance.
