SILICA AEROGEL, A SOLID WITH EXTREMELY LOW DENSITY AND LOW THER-MAL CONDUCTIVITY, FORMS THE INSULATION LAYER OF THE COMPOSITE PANEL. AEROGEL IS A MATERIAL THAT IS 98.2% AIR. THE LACK OF SOLID MATERIAL ALLOWS AEROGEL TO BE ALMOST WEIGHTLESS. AEROGELS THEY ALMOST NULLIFY TWO OF THE THREE METHODS OF HEAT TRANSFER. IT HAS REMARKABLE THERMAL INSULATING PROPERTIES, HAVING EXTREMELY LOW THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY: FROM 0.03 W/M·K[19] IN ATMOSPHERIC PRESSUREPRESSURE DOWN TO 0.004 W/M·K.
THE IDEA OF THIS STRUCTURAL SYSTEM IS BASED ON THE STRUC-TURAL PRINCIPLE ON WHICH A SUSPENDED BRIDGE IS BASED ON. THE HOLLOW STEEL TUBE SYSTEM INCORPORATES AN ANCHORAGE SYSTEM ON EACH FLOOR WITH STEEL CABLES USED TO TRANSFER THE LOADS THROUGH THE CORE DIRECTLY TO THE FOUNDATION. THROROUGH STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS AND IDENTIFICATION OF THE CORRECT ANALYTICAL MODEL IS THE NEXT PHASE OF THE PRESENT PROJECT.
