Founded in 1956, the University of South Florida was

established as the first public university to specifically address

the needs of Florida’s rapidly emerging urban regions.

Beginning with 2,000 students and five buildings, today the

USF System serves more than 47,000 students with three

separately accredited institutions in Tampa, St. Petersburg and

Sarasota-Manatee. The USF System has an annual budget of

$1.5 billion and an annual economic impact of $3.7 billion.
