Help desks have been created in all the circles to facilitate
e-registration and e-amendment of the dealers. A tax payer
service unit is soon to be set up in the head office. Some of
the citizen centric services that are being provided by the
Commercial Tax Department are:
1. Toll free number to answer all dealer queries.
2. Interactive SMS based services to know about the
registration details of a dealer and other issues.
3. SMS alerts for non filers etc.
4. E-Mail support where dealers can ask questions
directly and get reply to their queries.
5. Engagement through social networking sites like
facebook and twitter.

CTD is collaborating with XIMB in research and
training programmes. XIMB has recently
submitted two reports on: (1) Training need
analysis and (2) Dealer Perception Survey.
Based on the training need analysis
programme, various training programmes have
been designed for the officers of the
Commercial Tax Department. Three ongoing
training programmes at XIMB for officers of the
C.T.D are: 1. Commercial Accounting and VAT
2. Behavioral Management 3. Tax Analytic.
XIMB has already conducted training for 100
officers of the Commercial Tax Department till
now.
The Banijyakar Bhawan garden is
one of the best garden being
maintained by government
organization. It has won various
prizes over the years, most
notably the first prize in Lions
Club Flower Competition,
Revenshaw College competition,
and the show by Horticulture
Department and CMC (Cuttack
Municipal Corporation).
