THE CHALLENGE…
Ten years ago, DeVry had no HRIS, no Shared Services.
There were approximately 4,000 RFT employees at one of
about 25 locations. Most of the 25 locations had 3 HR people.
In 2011:
We had approximately 25,000 employees and temps
We were in over a dozen countries
73% of U.S. employees did not have an HR person at their
location because our locations are smaller, more
geographically dispersed, and FlexWork was becoming more
common.
The challenge: How to create and maintain an engaging,
interactive and responsive HR environment with more
dispersed growth.

THE ANSWER…
Leverage technology, but in a different way
Focus on:
Create a virtual environment where the same interactive
experiences could exist for all employees
Use multi-media to create vibrant content
Imbed social technology in our HRIS to connect employees
real-time with rich collaboration tools
