EditorialDear Readers,

I hope you will agree when I say that travel is becoming an increasingly popular hobby for many of us. For some it means business, for others having a rest, relaxation or learning something new.

What applies to all of our journeys is that the course it takes is essential, from the beginning till the end. Everything that forms part of our expedition cre-ates an image and experience we keep in our memories. To make our memories as pleasant as possible, it is advisable to let ourselves be spoilt everywhere we go, and Prague Airport is no exception.

We are here for you, and I wish you a pleasant trip.

And what do people say about us?And what do people say about us?

Libor BoučekPresenter

I fly rather often, and I'll admit I quite like it. The flight itself gives me a feeling of something extraordinary. On the other hand more than once I've had to get to work immediately after arrival, or I was asked to get to my destination ready for action. There is no better way to avoid all that travel inconvenience - counters, X-ray queues, impersonal service in the airport cafés - than to use VIP Service Club Continental. Apart from the experience of being truly cared for, it will save your time and energy. And that is a priceless thing on business trips. And when taking a holiday, nothing beats starting it right at the airport. The services, the quality and the kindness for this price represent an optimum complement to your journey anywhere.

Taťána KováříkováCzech fashion designer

I was really excited when I discovered the VIP service. I usually use the services when going on holiday. The moment the limou-sine comes to pick me up at my home, and I just hand over the luggage, true relaxation starts... I enjoy the calm and comfort, and I know that I won't miss the flight and everything is taken care of. It gives me time to deal with the last emails and phone calls... And I don't like queues and stress before departure.

Rüdiger DanyManaging Director of ECE Projektmanagement Praha s. r. o.

For more than 2 years I have had the pleasure of enjoying the excellent service of the VIP lounge Club Continental at Prague Airport. As I am there several times a week, I appreciate the welcoming exclusive atmosphere and especially the constantly aware and kind staff members.

Festival Culinaire Bernard LoiseauFestival Culinaire Bernard Loiseau

A piece of news from the top-level gastronomy echelons made it around the world in 2003. Famous chef Bernard Loiseau committed suicide. The most likely reason was his fear he would lose one of his three Michelin Guide stars after another renowned source - Gault Millau - had decreased his rating from 19/20 down to 17/20.

In the end, Bernard Loiseau's restaurant La Côte D’Or did not lose a star. On the contrary - it's doing very well. And what's more: the famous Culinary Fes-tival is associated with the name of its chef, taking place every year in Con-stance Belle Mare Plage Hotel on Mauritius.

Six "Michelin" chefs from all around Europe (France, Switzerland, Italy, Den-mark, Great Britain, Czech Republic) pair with six chefs from the islands (Sey-chelles, Maldives, Mauritius, Madagascar...) and they "fight" for one week to create the best food from local ingredients. A sort of "one-week of harmony" is established between the Europeans and the islanders. And thanks to this something new is created from two completely different cultures. The chefs in pairs mutually enrich each other. New friendships are made, and more often than not new meals. A popular quip by the French gastronome of the 20th century Brillat Savarin applies here: "Discovering a new dish does more for human happiness than the discovery of a new star."

"Discovering a new dish does more for human happiness than the discovery of a new star."

Pavel Maurer is a good food and drink enthusiast, and the most famous Czech gourmet. He's been publishing a guide to the best Czech restaurants under the title Maurer's Grand Restaurant since 1997, and since last year another guide, this time to the best bars: Grand Bar. Apart from the publishing of the gastronomy guides he organizes two epicurean festivals - in win-ter the Grand Restaurant Fes-tival and in summer the Prague Food Festival, and the Mňam Tour for culinary travels abroad. He uses his influence to make a good and high quality dish in a pleasing environment a more in-tegral part of the Czech lifestyle.

Festival Culinaire Bernard LoiseauThe Bernard Loiseau Culinary Festival contest itself, currently managed by Ms Dominique Loiseau, has very strict rules. All the chefs compete anonymously. The jury has to evaluate many different aspects within a limited time given, e.g. smell, design, use of the local ingredients, respect for the raw material and obviously the taste.

It was my second time at the festival, and Roman Paulus was invited on my recommendation this year. So Roman represented the Czech Republic among the chefs and I in the jury. We did not take first place, but it was a "gastrono-mic honour" for us to be there. Pavel Maurer

The legendary machines from the times when aviation was just beginning are great inspiration for Rimowa luggage. Simi-larly to aircraft manufacture, the main objective was to com-bine low weight and high stability. A brilliant idea that has led to an extraordinary design. The first light metal suitcases were born in 1937. This innovative step has revolutionized the travel industry, and a premium brand with world renown was created. Dieter Morszeck, representative of the third generation, used recyclable polycarbonate for the first time in 2000. Thanks to the polycarbonate the weight of suitcases was considerably reduced while preserving the maximum so-lidity. The Salsa Air cabin suitcase from the lightest collection weighs about 1.9 kg.

However, Jiří Kejval, chairman of the Czech Olympic Committee, does not travel only to the venues of the most important sports event in the world. He spends every fourth day on a plane on average. Still he is able to find some time for his hobbies - such as his beloved rowing.

You are known for being both an enthusiastic sportsman and a very busy professional. How can the two be combined in one?I just can't imagine one without the other. For me business represents mental exercise and sport physical exercise. The two can be offset; they go well together. I do sports early in the morning; it's difficult to find time during the day.

Some say you are addicted to sports; how is that manifested? When I fail to fit some sporting activity into my morning for any reason, I am not myself, I do not feel well. I had dinner with my colleague recently. His wife is a psychologist and she says it's the same as with smokers, who can't work without having a cup of coffee and a cigarette first.

Do you encourage your colleagues in the company or in the Olympic Committee to exercise regularly and do some sports?Well, I consider it a convenient and beneficial thing to do, but I leave it up to them. (smile)

As the Czech Olympic Committee chairman and businessman you travel a lot. How much time do you spend in planes every year?Quite a lot, between sixty and ninety flights a year.

What are your most frequent destinations? And your favourite? Most often I fly to Amsterdam, up to fifteen times a year. I go to London six times every year. And the place I like the most is my home, because free time is so precious.

Can you suggest a remedy for jet lag?I used to have problems with that, but now it's OK. It is important not to spend a long time in the destination, then the return is easy, and it feels more like the effect of a long party. And you should force yourself to have at least a nap on the plane, even if the idea does not seem an attractive one.

Have you ever clinched a good deal on board? No, I have not, but many things have crossed my mind on the plane that later had a positive impact on the business.

A year ago the Summer Olympic Games were held in London and the Czech representatives had great success - and we are not just talking about the medals won. How many Czechs attended the event, which was just around the corner so to speak? Tens of thousands of Czechs and Slovaks live in London. At the same time the Czech Republic was provided with the maximum number of tickets in history - almost thirty thousand. Plus the metropolis is easily accessible. We counted on that when we were preparing the Czech House concept in the city centre. Eighty thousand fans finally made it to the House, which is fantastic.

The next Olympic Games are coming up this winter in Sochi in Russia. What do you personally expect from the event?I am sure the games will be flawless as regards the participants. Both the ice and snow sports are easily accessible, and the connection between the mountains and the coastal area will work, too. But it's going to be more difficult for our fans. Even though the distance is just a bit bigger compared to London, there are no direct flights to Sochi. That is why we are preparing the Olympic Park concept in Prague, where we will try to create the Olympic atmosphere and open it for the general public from all around the country. We will present the project this autumn. Once again we are going to combine sport and other areas of human activity - art, enter-tainment, education...

Jiří Kejval (* 30 November 1967 in Prague) is the chairman of the Czech Olympic Committee. He is married and has three children. When he studied at university, Kejval was a co-founder of the TECHO company - producer of office furniture, provider of commercial interiors. The company has expanded abroad and today we can find its subsidiaries all around the world. In 1998 Jiří Kejval was behind the establishment of the non-profit organiza-tion "Space - architecture, interior, design", whose mission is to promote Czech architecture, design and interior design. He was also the mastermind behind the successful Czech House in London project during the last Olympic Games.

BB Centrum celebrates 15 yearsBB Centrum celebrates 15 yearsOne of the largest multipurpose complexes in the Czech Republic, consisting mostly of office buildings, can be found in Prague 4 - Michle, and it prides itself on the logos of a number of well-known brands: Hewlett-Packard, GE Money Bank, Telefónica O2, ČEZ, UniCredit Bank and Microsoft. The project developer is the genuinely Czech company PASSERINVEST GROUP.

Apart from ten architecturally varied office buildings the current BB Centrum includes two residential projects, an elementary school and nursery, a Community Centre and the exclusive fitness and wellness centre Balance Club Brumlovka. However, the fifteen buildings and 200,000 m2 area are not final figures in BB Centrum.

What else is in store for BB Centrum? What are the tenants looking forward to in the near future?Regarding the Office Park the almost complete building G should be added, Delta is under construction and we are planning the buildings H and Omega. Two more residential blocks will be completed here, God willing. A hotel of reasonable size with conference facilities is also included in the plan. We'd also like to continue with the implementation of nice landscaping, water surfaces and roof gardens. We are thinking about the pedestrian zones to make BB Centrum as pleasing as possible for the inhabitants and visitors. We are very happy that anybody can park his/her vehicle in BB Centrum at any time on the sufficient number of public parking places, which we consider an important added value for all our customers, and we are going to continue like that. Model trains should appear in the Filadelfie Arcade right after the summer holidays - a nice attraction for both children and

parents. The new Brumlovka Park will bring a number of features for young and old, also serving the population living in the vicinity. We see the linkage between the new and old structures as very important. The surroundings of the Delta building are going to enrich the area with interesting water elements. I believe the environment will have positive effects on people who spend most of their lives at work, and consequently their employers will be content as well. I am truly grateful to the Lord for having the opportunity to realize such a project as BB Centrum.

In the years to come BB Centrum could gradually expand to 300,000 m2 of space, while total costs would exceed CZK 17 billion. "At present some thirty per cent of the project is ahead of us. I am sure with the help of God we will successfully complete the aesthetically well done and functionally balanced complex that will serve both the people working here and the inhabitants of the local Prague district," concludes Radim Passer.

Life is a challengeLife is a challengeWe met Zuzana in a cafe - she had reserved some time for us in her busy schedule. And we are grateful for that, because Zuzana knows the where and why in Prague, new fashion to be launched on the Prague mar-ket, or how to organize an event for the fashion industry, major international company or a diplomat. She loves beautiful dresses and she'd like to have an unlimited supply of them - yet she is definitely no addict.

Your professional life is always moving you forward, bringing new challenges. How do you cope?I've been in contact with the fashion industry for fourteen years. I have experienced perhaps all the positions: model, stylist, production and even FTV director. All the posts had their pros and cons, and all of them helped me to advance. I have collected experience and contacts, but I've never given up on my dream - to return to psychotherapy. I'd like to do it on a professional basis once again.

What is your current life like?I've got my own PR and event agency, which is the work that logically resulted from my previous activities. I am grate-ful for what I'm doing, but with all humility I am also trying to make my dream come true, and in this sense I'm working on myself. I started a couple of years ago with the Foundation Fund Kapka naděje. We develop and implement great projects for the little children who are not as lucky as we would wish.

What is your approach to clients and business partners?I do my best to bring empathy to the business relationship, knowledge of the media world, I work with passion and real commitment. I take great care of my behaviour in everything I do, because you never know who will be your next client.

Have you got time to relax, do sports or some hobbies? My number one hobby is my son, to whom I'm trying to give the maximum. I relax when I have a silent moment by staring at a white wall. Now I can understand a man who comes back home after a difficult day at work and needs a couple of minutes for himself, asking his wife for a moment of silence. And I have completely fallen for hot yoga practised in a warm room. Apart from that I used to participate in shooting competitions, but now there is unfortunately not enough time.

You have travelled on business a lot; can you give us some tips not to be missed?Rome, Sweden, Georgia. I am a Catholic, looking for the spiritual in my destinations. And I found it in Georgia - I admire the incredibly friendly and humble nation. They have wonderful seaside landscapes there, as well as churches high in the mountains. I had a chance to live in Sweden for a while, and I fell in love with their lifestyle - organized, predict-able, a clean lifestyle, where people are responsible to each other and to the society. JUDr. Miloš Profous (* 1963)Law Firm Profous Legal active in the legal services market, continuing the tradition of the law firm Balaštík, Fiala, Profous & spol., founded in 1990. After more than 18 years of partnership in a major law firm JUDr. Miloš Profous de-cided to go his own way.He specializes in business law, banking, privatizations, legal relations to proper-ties, bills and cheques. JUDr. Miloš Pro-fous is a member of the Czech and Slo-vak bar associations, the Union of Czech Lawyers, and a member and chairman of the supervisory board of the Kapka na-děje foundation fund.

28 | Lawyer friend?Where can one find a time-proven, reliable and discrete lawyer? The well-tried way is a recommendation from friends or acquaintances. You know your friend, and presumably you are on the same wavelength. Then a lawyer recommended by your friend because they understand each other should be a good candidate. It is very important for the lawyer and the client to find a way to reach each other. You must not be shy to speak openly and think aloud in the company of your lawyer. He should know about everything that bothers you. Only a legal counsel aware of the context can provide a sensible solution to given issues any time the client needs it. Even unexpectedly. When the client causes a traffic accident during a holiday, suffers an injury when skiing, or decides to invest.

Does it mean your services are based on long-term, mutual trust?Yes. The relationship between the client and the lawyer builds up over a long time. I've been working for most of my clients for ten and more years. And many of them have become my friends in the process.

What is the philosophy of your law firm? The law is getting ever more complicated - new legislation, amended laws, changes prepared with consequences for both the private and professional lives of my clients. Therefore even the lawyers specialized in one field should have general knowledge of civil, business and penal law. It is impossible to give good advice without knowing the connections. Our philosophy is embo-died in the idea of a family lawyer, with reference to the First Republic, where the lawyer/attorney was a member of the family, knew the relations, the history and the current situation. The family members entrusted him with their plans, and he helped to pursue them, able to always provide objective insight into possible risks and ways to avoid these. Therefore we are a mid-sized law firm that guarantees everything that matters: personal treatment, technical and professional capacities in all law fields.

How do you pick your colleagues, and how do you assign them to your clients?Colleagues are pillars of every team's success. That is why I choose them very carefully, because they have to adjust to their clients' needs. I try to make sure the lawyer has similar traits and ways of thinking as the client he/she works for. Only in this way can they have fruitful cooperation. There is a lot of psychology involved. Simply put: If the client prefers solving problems over a glass of beer, his lawyer cannot be abstinent. A "family" lawyer has to be prepared for every eventuality.

Can you sum up the reasons why use a "family" lawyer?Major business mingles with the private life of the businessman and his family. A family lawyer can save lots of time and money. A client does not have to explain the background repeatedly, and let's not forget some connections need not even cross the client's mind at all. Where the lawyer understands the family situation of the client, the best possible legal counsel can be formulated.

Do you have some final piece of good advice for us?What I tell my clients and friends - always consult with your lawyer before you take an important step. It always costs more money ex post, and sometimes the damage is irreparable. www.profouslegal.com

Everybody has some idea of what a lawyer does. We have our own opinion on how fast the lawyer should deal with the matter, when he should be available and where or why we need the lawyer. We have dis-cussed all these things with JUDr. Miloš Profous from the Profous Legal law firm.

PATTERNElements that are decisive for a correct trouser pattern are the circum-ference of the abdomen and buttocks, trouser length and width and height of the person.Following these parameters we can differentiate basic types every true man should have in his wardrobe: a suit, creased, narrow trousers, light chinos and jeans.

1. Suit trousersThe colour and material of the suit trousers should always match the jacket. The pattern depends on the body type. Cuffs are subject to indi-vidual choice, because they optically shorten the legs. If you have your suit tailor-made and your body shape allows it, go for a Perfect Fit pattern that will make your shape apparent and make you visually taller. The most fre-quently used materials: cotton, flannel, wool, wool with silk or Cashmere.Premium suit trousers made in the traditional way also have knee length lining. This is related to the material used - e.g. wool trousers are usually made with lining to increase the comfort, because woolen fabric feels rather unpleasant on the skin.

2. Creased trousersTypical for a slightly wider pattern, classical elegant trousers look particularly well when combined with fine shoes. They usually have a vertical pocket cut. A longitudinal crease along the entire trouser length will make the leg optically longer. It is important to hang and iron the trousers correctly.

3. Narrow trousersLooser at the hips and the closer to the ankle the narrower. This just about sums up the pattern. It is recommended for slim men only. When choosing this type it is important to be aware that the trousers fit tightly and as a result almost the whole shoe will be visible.

4. Light chinosRobust chinos are the most universal of all types, and with a conveni-ent pattern they are a suitable complement to your business wardrobe. Wear them when jeans are too casual for the event and suit trousers are too formal. A classical outfit consists of beige chinos and a navy blazer. When combined with fine white canvas shoes you are all set for the whole day. A tweed jacket also goes nicely with chinos. Especially in summer they offer a comfortable bright alternative to suit trousers.

Reserved for menReserved for menNot only women take care of their appearance, and there are more and more brands and magazines designed just for men. Be it busi-ness or casual fashion, everybody can find his thing there. We don't want to lag behind; that is why we are bringing you a few tips; we hope you will be inspired and not neglect the necessary everyday component of men's wardrobe - trousers.

5. JeansA really convenient denim? Only a slimmer silhouette can guarantee a truly smart look. Jeans should be made from solid dark denim if they are to substitute trousers for formal occasions. And of course combined with a classical jacket. However, this combination is often considered too much of a compromise between formal and casual fashion. On the contrary - with a casual or tweed jacket, jeans are perfectly harmonious. The right length: Jeans should end 1.5 cm above the heel. Our recommendation: Wear traditional leather shoes with jeans.

SHORT VARIANTRolled up trousers or shorter pattern? Yes, even this is possible in some cases, and it's no mistake to show one's ankle in the right way. This works well with narrow trousers, or cotton and woolen trousers of a narrower pattern. You are never obliged to roll up your trousers, but when you do it, please do it right. The standard height is about 3 cm, never more than 6 cm. If possible do not roll the trousers more than once.

PATTERNS AND COLOURSWhen combining follow one rule: Never mix different patterns on the upper and lower body! Exception: Solid coloured cotton trousers can be easily combined with a patterned top. Blue and green is a combination for the most daring only. Others should make do with the rule that we never combine blue and green.

The only piece PRIM Manufacture 1949 watches have been made for sixty years in Nové Město nad Metují, in a workshop that is one of the few in the world able to make both the shell and the movement under one roof.

The "chronometer" is created here from the initial idea, and all the way to the final tuning the customer can influence individual components according to his/her taste and fantasy. Only the unique know-how of the Manufacture PRIM 1949 brand is able to make a one-off piece, whose design is thus truly unrepeatable.

It is up to youMechanical watches from the Czech workshop consist of up to two hundred indi-vidual components, each of which is made by a computer-controlled machine. But that does not mean that handwork has disappeared from the place. Only the end-

What is the most amazing thing about watchmaking? Perhaps the joy of creating precise mechanics where every little spring and sprocket have their purpose. Let's have a look into the world of premium watchmaking, which is based upon absolute precision.

less grinding and polishing of the individual parts can guarantee perfect operation of the watch. And the watchmakers work with components whose dimensions are smaller than a millimetre, with an accuracy of thousandths.

It is the watchmaker who "brings life" to the hands when he assembles all the com-ponents into one single mechanism and adds handmade decoration according to the customer's wishes. Would you like to defy omnipresent time at least by watching it flow on a special wristwatch? Create your own design of one of the basic models! It's no problem to have your initials engraved on the bottom. More demanding owners can order personalized art engraving of the movement, e.g. with a family crest.

Manufacture of an original dial designed by the customer has become quite popular. Apart from the basic stainless steel version the manufacturer can provide a shell made from 18K gold or platinum.

Patience paysA PRIM Manufacture 1949 watch is like a beautiful woman you'd better wait for, even though the clock tower dial tells you she is considerably late. Count with us: - The usual time required to complete and approve an individual design is be-

tween two weeks and two months. - The process and technological preparations will take a further fifteen to thirty days. - The watchmaking itself will require two to three months.

The time will pass slowly when waiting, but the precision and uniqueness of the final product are more than sufficient reward for your patience. The moment when the two stories of the watch and the owner merge into one is a rare one. See for yourself. Come to see us and have a look at our production .

1. The best swimming is from onboard your yacht. You can find yourself a wonderful calm refuge, maybe near some uninhabited island,

and spend the whole day in a virgin bay. Enjoy the clear emerald waters, or sandy beach nearby that you can have all to yourself. And when the sun moves and your beach is in the shadows, there is nothing simpler than to sail your yacht a bit further and choose some other magical deserted place.

2. Thanks to the yacht you can be accommodated directly in the centre of your favourite seaside resort and not rely

on the overpriced and overcrowded hotels. At the end of a day spent in the calming rhythm of the sea splashing against the side of your yacht, the experince of a pulsating seaside town and delicious dinner in a local restaurant can be a welcome change.

3. A yacht offers true freedom. You can go wherever you want and be as slow about it as you wish. In the comfort of your own yacht,

with family, with friends. You will completely forget about the jammed summer roads.

A holiday on a yacht offers three fundamental and undoubted advantages:

The best sea? From your own yacht! The best sea? From your own yacht!

Page 35: VIP Service & AIRPORT LOUNGES

| 35The best sea? From your own yacht! You can either rent a yacht, or buy it and let a yacht fleet take care of the vessel throughout the year. And when you are not using the yacht, it is being rented and basically earns back its worth. The Bemex Boot company, exclu-sive dealer of Beneteau vessels for the Czech Republic and Slovakia, has such a fleet at its disposal.

This company can arrange ship rental including the captain practically all around the world. However, the Mediterranean is still the most beautiful lo-cation for yachts, therefore the Czech charter base can be found in the heart of the Adriatic coast.

Yachts produced by Beneteau represent the very best among the cabin sail-boats of the category. The equipment includes the sprayhood, bimini roof, colour GPS plotter, depth gauge, speedometer, wind meter, and autopilot. You

will find a common lounge with complete kitchen on the lower deck, together with four comfortable two- or three-bed cabins and toilets with a shower. Safety equipment, such as the life raft, vests, harnesses or signal rockets and insurance. Each boat has its own wi-fi internet to provide connection with civilization.

Should you feel the desire to take the helm, you can participate in a week- long training course and pass captain exams, which will enable you to sail the ship and control a VHF radio station. The courses are organized in the form of a one-week cruise around the Adriatic islands.

Experience the cruise of your dreams in the emerald waters of seas and oceans. What remains? Perhaps to wish you favourable winds in your sails! www.bemexboot.com
