In return, VIP received some great financial rewards and helped reduce peak demand on the electricity network. VIP is the leading plastic and steel packaging company in Australia and New Zealand, with a number of sites spread across a wide geographic region. VIP prides itself on leading the way in many fields of packaging, with a strong commitment to sustainability and innovation. When Energex first met with VIP Brendale, the site was near capacity for electricity supply (19,618 MWh) and had a power factor equal or less than 0.75. It was also identified that peak demand (4,273 kVA) was largely occurring mid to late afternoon each day at the site. VIP worked with Energex and energy consultants to implement a number of solutions that brought significant benefits to the business.
