Village of Niles Electricity Choice Municipal Aggregation Program
Dear Village of Niles Residents and Small Business Owners, On April 9th, 2013, voters in the Village of Niles approved a referendum allowing the community to enter into an electricity purchasing agreement to maximize electricity supply savings for its residential and small business customers.
For the past year, residents enrolled in the electricity choice program were receiving its electricity supply from Homefield Energy. This agreement is set to expire May 31, 2015. Great News! After an extensive bidding process, the Village has decided to renew its Electricity Choice Municipal Aggregation program and has selected IDT Energy, Inc. (IDTE), to supply eligible residents and small business customers with electricity supply.
Your New Electricity Supply Rate: Eligible members of the program will be billed the IDTE per kilowatt hour (kWh) supply rate listed below through your May 2017 ComEd billing cycle. Billing: You will continue to receive a single bill from ComEd, with IDTE’s electricity supply charges included in the supply portion of your bill. You will continue to be eligible for all ComEd payment options, including budget billing. In addition, if you are currently enrolled in the state’s Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP) program, you will continue to receive the program’s full benefits. ComEd continues to be responsible for the wires, poles, and all emergencies including outage restoration.
Enrollment is Automatic! If your supply service is currently with Homefield Energy or with ComEd, THERE IS NOTHING MORE THAT YOU NEED TO DO in order to participate. There are no fees to take advantage of the Village program, and your switch to IDTE will happen automatically beginning with your June 2015 billing cycle. Once your account has been transferred to IDTE, you will receive notification from ComEd. Upon receipt, you will have 10 business days to rescind participation, as provided by ComEd.
If you previously opted out of the Village program and chose an alternative energy supplier, your account will remain with that supplier. Although you are not obligated to, we encourage you to opt-‐in to the Village of Niles program. You may visit www.IDTEnergy.com/VillageofNiles or by calling IDTE directly at 1-‐877-‐887-‐6866 (M-‐F, 7:00am to 5:00pm CDT). Can I Opt-‐Out? You are not obligated to participate in the Village program. If you wish to be excluded and retain ComEd or another supplier, you have 21 (twenty-‐one) calendar days from the postmark on this notice to respond, either by mail using the enclosed postage paid reply card, online at www.IDTEnergy.com/VillageofNiles or by calling IDTE directly at 1-‐877-‐887-‐6866 (M-‐F, 7:00am to 5:00pm CDT).
