The dishwasher drain hose may be connected to the drain plumbing in one of three ways,(Figures A, B, C):
Drain Preparation
NOTICEYou must add a loop at least 28”(71.1cm) above the floor of the cabinetand above the drain connection in thedrain hose to prevent waste water fromnot draining properly and causing eitherpoor washing results or a bad odor.
NOTICECheck with local ordinance for type of airgap required.
NOTICE• Either one of the above methods must be used or the dishwasher will not operate
properly.• A hose that attaches to a sink spray can burst if it is installed on the same water line as the
dishwasher. If your sink has one, it is recommended that the hose be disconnected and thehole plugged.
• The total length of the drain hose is 76-3/4” (1950mm). If a hose extension is required, adrainage hose of equal quality must be used.
• The maximum length must not exceed 157-1/2” (4000mm). Otherwise, the cleaning processis negatively influenced.
Under the Sink Drain• Install a Y-branch tail pipe
(Figure A).
Disposal• Remove the drain
connection plug beforeattaching the drain hosefrom the dishwasher.
• Every disposal has a hook-up for a dishwasher; consultyour disposer manual forcorrect connection(Figure C).
Installing an Air Gap• If the local ordinance
requires an air gap(Figure B).
14
Installation Preparation
Steam will form inside the dishwasher during operation. At the end of the cycle, when thedishwasher door is opened, it is required to use a steam protection foil to prevent any steamfrom collecting on the underside of the counter top.
Steam Protection Foil
CAUTIONSteam protection foil must be appliedwhere the steam escapes when door isfirst opened. Failure to install the steamprotection foil during installation canlead to damage to to the cabinets andcountertop.

Fitting the Protection Foil• Before applying the steam protection foil
to the underside of the countertop, cleanthe area with a damp cloth (as shown inFigure A). Once the area dries, apply thesteam protection foil.
• The steam protection foil will be appliedat the location where the hot steamescapes when you first open the door (asshown in Figure B).
15
Installation

Note that the marks on therubber connection hose should
be on the drain hose side.
Placement of Dishwasher into the Opening
Drain Hose Connection, Water Supply, and Electrical Connections
CAUTIONMake sure all hoses are pulledthrough the side opening of thecabinet, no hoses are kinked, andall slack is taken out as shown inthe figure to the left.
Drain Hose ConnectionConnect the drain hose to thedrain plumbing.• Use the supplied rubber
connection hose and drainhose clamps to connect thedishwasher drain hose to theplumbing drain connection.
• Use the spring clamp tosecure the rubberconnection hose to thedishwasher drain hose. Use
the screw clamp to securethe rubber connectionhose to the plumbingdrain connection.
16
• Before pushing the dishwasher into the cabinet, you must placewater supply hoses into the channel of the dishwasher (Figure A).

• Temperatures required for solderingand sweating will damage thedishwasher’s water inlet valve so ifany such operation is needed, keepthe heat source min. 7-7/8” (20.0cm)away from the dishwasher’s waterinlet valve.
• There should not be any sharp bendsin the water line that may restrict thewater flow.
