Nothing compares to the river, nor treats you to such a feast of unfolding scenery. One day, a centuries-old

village, the next a glorious city. One moment, a field filled with sunflowers, the next, a valley beyond which

majestic mountains rise. Around every bend a new sight. In every town, a new discovery.

Nature’s great highways, rivers shape the landscape and with it, our very being. Rivers cherish history. Along their banks, great civilisations are born and great stories, too.

The river is a place of myths and legends, the muse of musicians, artists and writers. And when we sail its

unhurried waters, our own stories come to life.

This is the magic of the river. And the magic of a Viking river cruise.

And that’s something you can’t experience on any other kind of trip.

With plenty of time in each destination, how you explore is up to you. It’s your day, and we want you to enjoy it your way.

Our thoughtful itineraries enable you to look beyond the sights to discover the heart and soul of each fascinating destination. From being enthralled by the sight of Hungary’s legendary Puszta horsemen, to being treated to lunch at a winery along Portugal's River Douro, you can discover the people, culture, history, cuisine and language of each place.

WHERE WILL YOUR DAYTAKE YOU?

If travel broadens the mind (and of course it does), there are few more enriching ways to explore than with Viking.

On board, you won’t find the all-singing, all-dancing style of entertainment associated with most cruise lines. What you will find are enriching talks, cooking demonstrations and performances that bring each destination to life.

Listen to a performance of Baroque Chamber music. Learn how to make Rüdesheimer coffee. Discuss French Impressionism. Be dazzled by Hungarian folk dancers. Artists, performers, historical eyewitnesses and professors from eminent institutions all contribute to a fascinating and entertaining programme that gives you a deeper insight into the places you visit.

Both on board and on shore, you can look forward to a kaleidoscope of experiences that will stay with you long after you return home.

Quietly elegant, wonderfully spacious and comfortable, stepping aboard your Viking ship feels like coming home.

On every ship you are greeted with an abundance of space and natural light. Panoramic, floor-to-ceiling windows make the most of the glorious, ever-changing scenery and, on most of our ships, the sleek Scandinavian design blends contemporary style with traditional comforts. Best of all, every stateroom has a window, French balcony or veranda.

Find a comfy chair in the inviting lounge and gaze at the mesmerising views. Enjoy a cocktail at the bar. Curl up with a good book in the library. Head to the Sun Deck for wonderful all-round views and comfort. Listen to a music recital or a fascinating talk on the places you will be exploring. Learn how to cook a local speciality. Your journey brings a thoughtfully planned programme on a beautiful ship that is big on space, and style.

Exploration meets relaxation Day and night, your Viking ship is a welcoming haven. When evening falls, enjoy a fabulous dinner in the elegant restaurant with its sparkling views over the water. In many places, your ship is moored until late or overnight, and you can step ashore for an after-dinner drink or stroll around town. Or head to the on board bar and lounge, where you can relax accompanied by the soothing sounds of the resident pianist. Catch up on the day’s adventures with new friends. Take in the evening air with a night cap on deck. Or, on the Viking Longships, enjoy a selection of films in the comfort of your stateroom. With so many discoveries to be enjoyed on board, every one of our beautiful ships inspires and relaxes in equal measure.

Sweet dreams Welcome to your stateroom. Elegant, spacious and so very inviting, it’s everything you dream it will be. A relaxing sanctuary with all the comforts of a fine hotel and something else, too: a view of the wonderful world through which you’re travelling.

Because there’s nothing better than waking from a restful night’s sleep, your king-size bed and luxurious linens promise sweet dreams. And because a beautiful bathroom is a necessity not an indulgence, your ensuite has a generous walk-in shower and fluffy towels. L’Occitane shampoos and scented body lotions add to the ambience of a boutique hotel.

Good morning or good night, it is simply perfect.

GRAND EUROPEAN TOURAlong the ribbon of history that is the Rhine, the medieval castle of Marksburg stands proud on the hill. In a centuries-old coffee house in Vienna, the scent of oven-warm cherry cake fills the air. In the narrow, cobbled streets of Bamberg, a handmade glass bowl catches your eye. And in Budapest, in an ancient church, a stained-glass window draws you close. No place holds such a rich history and spellbinding scenery as the heart of Europe. Through every doorway a new discovery awaits.

RHINE GETAWAYOn this legendary river, history and myths abound. As you sail its waters

the ever-changing countryside drifts gently past and you are given a rare opportunity to sit and dream. Of the medieval fairytale castles that

top the wooded hills. Of the Romans for whom the river marked the edge of their empire. Of those who laboured to create Cologne’s vast cathedral. Like the ripples in the water their stories reach out to you.

Day 1 Amsterdam. From Amsterdam airport we take you to your stunning Viking Longship where you can settle in and enjoy free time to explore this charming city. You may want to visit Anne Frank’s House or one of the city’s many museums, or simply stroll alongside the canals and pretty bridges.

Day 2 Kinderdijk. Sail to scenic Kinderdijk, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and enjoy a fascinating included tour of this historic network of windmills and flood management devices. All of these 19 mills are in working condition, and you will visit one of them for a glimpse into The Netherlands’ past. In the evening, get to know your fellow Guests at a Welcome Cocktail Reception and Welcome Dinner on board.

Day 3 Cologne. Take an included tour through the lovely riverside city of Cologne, the ‘Jewel of the Rhine’, visiting the Old Town, St. Martin’s Church and the magnificent cathedral, known locally as the Dom. Begun in 1248, its construction took place in several stages, spanning more than 600 years. Spend a leisurely afternoon freely exploring this historic city with its Roman Tower, Renaissance City Hall and inviting dockside cafés and bars. In the evening, you may like to explore Cologne’s cobblestone streets, and discover the city’s beer culture in a traditional brauhaus. Prost!

Day 4 Koblenz and Rüdesheim. Your included tour of Marksburg Castle is the perfect start to the day. This fortress overlooking the river appears

much as it did when it was first built in the 12th century. It is the only hill castle along the Rhine never to have been destroyed, and has been lived in for over 700 years. Enjoy a glorious voyage along the Middle Rhine, a UNESCO site famous for its history and natural beauty. Look out for the Lorelei Rock at the point where the Rhine is at its narrowest and the land rises steeply. Alight in Rüdesheim for a wander along the 15th-century pedestrianised Drosselgasse and enjoy a beer or glass of local wine in one of the many taverns. Dine on board or join an optional dinner in Rüdesheim, where you can savour the flavours of the region and the local schnapps, accompanied by live traditional music.

Day 5 Heidelberg and Speyer. One of Germany’s oldest and most romantic cities, Heidelberg is also home to the nation’s oldest university founded in 1386. Your included guided tour takes you to the dramatic, red sandstone ruins of Heidelberg Castle. From its hilltop location you are treated to incredible views of the Neckar Valley. You’ll also stroll through the Old Town and see its famous city gates. Enjoy some free time to explore before rejoining your ship in Speyer. This city was once an important centre of Jewish culture. From the ship you have magnificent views of the UNESCO-listed Imperial Cathedral, an incredible Romanesque building with a magnificent soaring interior.

Our new ocean cruises are the ones our river Guests inspired us to create. We asked, listened, observed—and now created the ultimate kind of cruise: one focused on destinations.

In 2015, we are taking destination cruising from the rivers to the oceans with the maiden season of the beautiful Viking Star. And for 2016, because 2015 sold out so quickly, we are adding two additional ships, Viking Sea and Viking Sky, to meet the overwhelming demand for this new approach to cruising.

Like our river cruises, our ocean cruises are designed so you can experience destinations up close and in depth. In this way, we’ve reinvented the nature of the ocean cruise by custom designing itineraries for more time in port so you can really explore—whether you are experiencing excursions that bring history and culture to life or discovering off-the-beaten-path adventures that enrich your journey.

On Viking Star, Viking Sea and Viking Sky, you can expand your horizons with like-minded explorers on state-of-the-art ships. Each is designed with a comfortable intimacy to encourage lifelong friendships and an ease of discovery that larger ships simply cannot offer. So by journey’s end, you feel more connected—to your fellow travellers and to your destinations.

Of course, value for your money is also of great importance. At Viking, we believe that your cruise should offer more than just transportation. Like our river cruises, your fare should include all you need—from shore excursions to beverages, meals and Wi-Fi—not surprises. Your ship should be built to enhance your destination, not be the destination. And should you choose to explore more, you still have options to customize your experience, from optional excursions and behind-the-scenes Privileged Access tours to the services of our on board Viking Concierge. This is our vision. This is Viking cruising.

Travel should be so much more than just a trip, and we believe the best way to understand a country is through enrichment. On our cruises, you truly explore your destination — through its food, culture, countryside and customs. Perhaps you accompany the ship’s chef on a trip to a local market; go behind the scenes at a famous theatre company; or view private collections and hidden vaults at world-class museums.

We have a history of providing our Guests with a way to get below the surface, not just “check

off” each port. That’s why our ocean cruises are centred around where you go, not just how you get there — with handpicked itineraries so you can immerse yourself in history, music, art and cuisine — everything about your destination. In addition, we include excursions led by knowledgeable local guides in every port of call. You learn about the lands to which you travel via enrichment lectures that bring history to life; through cultural adventures; in-depth pre-trip materials; and on-demand programming — all designed to help you experience the most from your travels.

Set sail on a 15-day cruise that takes you from Bergen’s Viking waters to magnificent London, down the Atlantic coast of France and Portugal and to the sunny Mediterranean. Explore the Moorish-inflected architecture of Spain, the art and cuisine of France, and marvels of London. This is an epic journey of contrasts: of ancient and modern, provincial and cosmopolitan, Moorish and Gothic. The nimble proportions of your ship lets you sail up the Thames to London or the Seine to reach the heart of Le Havre, like our legendary river cruises. Everywhere you venture, we provide you with rich insights and practical knowledge so you will always feel like an explorer; not just a tourist. Let the journey commence.

E1.1 you; or

E1.2 a third party unconnected with the provision of the travel arrangements and where the failure is unforeseeable or unavoidable; or

E1.3 unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, the consequences of which could not have been avoided even if all due care had been exercised; or

E1.4 an event which we or our suppliers, even with all due care, could not foresee or forestall.

E2. In addition to the provisions of clause H1, our liability, except in cases involving death, injury or illness, shall be limited to a maximum of 2 times the cost of your travel arrangements.

E3. Should you or any member of your party suffer illness, personal injury or death attributable to a third party unconnected with the provision of the services, or as a result of failures due to unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, the consequences of which could not have been avoided even if all due care had been exercised, or an event which we or our suppliers, even with all due care, could not foresee or forestall, we will offer you such advice, guidance and assistance as is reasonable in the circumstances.

E4. Our liability will also be limited in accordance with and/or in an identical manner to:

E4.1 the contractual terms of the companies that provide the transportation for your travel arrangements which are incorporated into and form part of your contract with us; and

E4.2 any relevant international convention, for example the Montreal Convention in respect of travel by air, the Athens Convention in respect of travel by sea, the Berne Convention in respect of travel by rail and the Paris Convention in respect of the provision of accommodation, which limit the amount of compensation that you can claim for death, injury, delay to passengers and loss, damage and delay to luggage which are incorporated into and form part of your contract with us and we are to be regarded as having all the benefit of any limitation of compensation contained in these or any other such conventions.

E5. Unless otherwise expressly indicated by us in writing, excursions or other tours that you may choose to book or pay for whilst you are away are not part of the travel arrangements provided by us. For any excursion or other tour that you book, your contract will be with the operator of the excursion or tour and not with us. We are not responsible for the provision of the excursion or tour or for anything that happens during the course of its provision by the operator. Where an excursion or other tour is booked through us no refund will be available in the event of you subsequently being unable or choosing not to take part. This clause E5 applies even where a Viking representative accompanies the tour or excursion.

E6. Where you have booked a “Cruise Only” holiday, we cannot accept any liability for the costs of flights or other travel arrangements in the event of changes being made to the scheduled departure or arrival times or locations of the cruise vessel.

E7. The provisions of clauses E1 to E6 inclusive are in addition to any other limitation of liability contained in these Booking Conditions.

E8. Nothing in these Booking Conditions affect any statutory rights that you may have under the relevant jurisdiction applicable pursuant to clause H7.

F. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

F1. SPECIAL REQUESTS If you have a special request, we will do our best to help, but we cannot guarantee it except as set out below. Please advise your Travel Agent or us (if booking direct) of your request at the time of booking and make sure that we are given as much detail as possible. If your special request is vital to your travel arrangements, it must be specifically agreed with us before or at the time you book. We promise to comply with any special request which we have specifically agreed and confirmed in writing. General confirmation that a special request has been noted or passed on to the supplier or the inclusion of a special request on your Confirmation Invoice or on the acknowledgement of your booking or any other documentation is not confirmation that the request will be met. Unless and until specifically confirmed in writing all special requests are subject to availability. If any additional cost is applicable, it will either be invoiced to you prior to your departure or should be paid for locally.

F2. YOUR DOCUMENTATION F2.1 You are responsible for ensuring that you and all other persons included in the booking satisfy all passport, visa, travel insurance and health certificate requirements and we accept no responsibility for any refusal of travel or entry into any destination or for any liabilities, losses, delays or expenses incurred through any irregularity in such documentation. If you have any queries with regard to documentation and insurance requirements you must raise them with us or your Travel Agent well in advance of travel commencing. In the event we are asked to re-issue tickets that have been lost, destroyed or stolen and we agree to do so, any charges incurred as a result of this will be payable by you.

F2.2 Many of the airlines that provide the flight element of the arrangements we sell impose fines and costs on us if any passengers who have booked with us do not have the necessary travel or other documents for the countries they are visiting or passing through, even where this occurs through no fault of ours. In this situation we have no choice but to pass on to you all fines, costs, surcharges, financial penalties and other sums of any description which are imposed on or incurred by us. You will be responsible for reimbursing us accordingly in full.

F3. HEALTH PRECAUTIONS & FCO ADVICEF3.1 You should check what vaccinations and other health precautions are required or are advisable for your chosen destination and journey with your doctor in good time before departure.

F3.2 Airline regulations state that women 28 weeks or more into pregnancy at the time of return travel must have written confirmation from a doctor that they are fit to travel when checking in for their outward flight. Normally, permission to travel is refused after 32 weeks. We can only accept your booking upon the clear understanding that we cannot be liable if any airline refuses to accept you or any member of your party as a passenger for this reason.

F3.3 You must provide us with full details of any existing medical problem or disability that may affect your travel arrangements (including, in particular, any accommodation requirements) at the time of booking. If in our reasonable opinion, your chosen travel arrangements are not suitable for your medical problem or disability or you are not travelling with someone who can provide all assistance you may reasonably require, we have the

right to refuse to accept the booking. If you do not give us full details of your medical problem or disability at the time of booking, we can also cancel the booking when we find out the full details if in our reasonable opinion the travel arrangements are not suitable or you are not travelling with someone who can provide all assistance reasonably required. If we cancel in this situation, cancellation charges as set out in clause D1 must be paid by the person concerned.

F3.4 The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (“FCO”) produces a wide range of material about overseas countries including details of political unrest, crime and health issues. If you have any particular concerns then you should refer to the FCO website at www.fco.gov.uk.

F4. INSURANCEF4.1 You must take out insurance suitable for your needs before you travel. We cannot be held responsible for any costs you incur as a result of failing to do so.

F4.2 If you participate in sports and activities whilst travelling that have been organised and arranged independently of us, it should be understood that participation is at the individual’s own risk and it is your responsibility to obtain the relevant insurance.

F5. BEHAVIOUR You must be responsible for the behaviour of yourself and your party. We can refuse to accept you as a customer or refuse to continue dealing with you and/or any other member of your party by terminating your travel arrangements if behaviour is or is likely to be, in our reasonable opinion, or in the reasonable opinion of any airline pilot, cruise vessel captain or other person in authority, disruptive, upsetting or dangerous to yourself or anyone else or if you or any member of your party have caused or are likely to cause damage to property. We will not pay any refund, compensation or other sum whatsoever or any costs or expenses incurred by you if we have to terminate your travel arrangements due to such unacceptable behaviour. In this situation we will then have no further responsibility for you or any other member of your party (including any return travel arrangements). If your unacceptable behaviour means you are not allowed to board your outward flight we will treat your booking as cancelled from that moment and you will have to pay full cancellation charges (see clause D1).

G. IF YOU HAVE A COMPLAINTG1. If you have cause for complaint whilst travelling, you must bring it to the attention of the Viking representative on board the cruise vessel or at your hotel. If your complaint is not resolved locally, please follow this up within 28 days of your return home by writing to our Customer Service Department at:

Viking River Cruises UK Limited Nelsons House, 83 Wimbledon Park Side London SW19 5LP

giving your booking reference and all other relevant information. Please keep your letter concise and to the point. This will assist us to quickly identify your concerns and speed up our response to you. It is strongly recommended that you communicate any complaint to the supplier of the services in question as well as to our representative without delay and complete a report whilst on board. If you fail to follow this simple procedure we will have been deprived of the opportunity to investigate and rectify your

complaint whilst you are on board and this may affect your rights under this contract.

G2. We are a member of ABTA, membership number V924X. We are obliged to maintain a high standard of service by ABTA’s Code of Conduct. We certainly hope that we can settle any complaints amicably. However, should this prove not to be the case you may refer any dispute relating to this contract to an Arbitrator appointed by the IDRS, part of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. The scheme provides for a simple and inexpensive method of arbitration on documents alone with restricted liability for you in respect of costs. The scheme is subject to certain financial limits on the amount that can be claimed as determined from time to time by ABTA. Neither does it apply to claims which are solely in respect of physical injury or illness or their consequences, although claims which include an element of minor injury or illness can be considered subject to a limit as set from time to time by ABTA on the amount the arbitrator can award per person, in respect of this element.

G3. Any application for arbitration under clause G2, together with any related statement of claim, must be received by the IDRS within nine months of the date of return. Outside this time limit arbitration under the Scheme may still be available if we agree, but the ABTA Code does not require such agreement. For injury and illness claims, you may like to use the ABTA/Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Mediation Procedure. This is a voluntary scheme and requires us to agree for mediation to go ahead. The aim is to help you resolve your dispute in a quick and cost effective way. Details are available on request or from www.abta.com.

H. MISCELLANEOUS

H1. CHANGES DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND OUR CONTROL

We will not be liable to pay any compensation if we are forced to cancel or in any way change your travel arrangements as a result of unusual or unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, the consequences of which could not have been avoided even with all due care. These include unavoidable technical problems with transport, changes imposed by rescheduling or cancellation of flights by an airline or main charterer, the alteration of the airline or aircraft type, changes imposed by rescheduling or cancellation of rail travel by the relevant operator, war or threat of war, civil strife, industrial disputes, natural disaster, bad weather, epidemic or terrorist activity.

H2. YOUR FINANCIAL SECURITYH2.1 When you buy an ATOL protected flight or flight inclusive holiday from us you will receive an ATOL Certificate. This lists the flight accommodation car hire and/or other services that are financially protected, where you can get information on what this means for you and who to contact if things go wrong.

H2.2 We, or the suppliers identified on your ATOL certificate, will provide you with the services listed on the ATOL Certificate (or a suitable alternative). In some cases, where neither we nor the supplier are able to do so due to reasons of insolvency, an alternative ATOL holder may provide you with the services you have bought, or a suitable alternative (at no extra cost to you). You agree to accept that in those circumstances, the alternative ATOL holder will perform those obligations and you agree to pay any money outstanding to be paid by you under your contract to that alternative ATOL holder. However you also

agree that in some cases it will not be possible to appoint an alternative ATOL holder, in which case you will be entitled to make a claim under the ATOL scheme (or your credit card issuer where applicable).

H2.3 If we, or the suppliers identified on your ATOL certificate, are unable to provide the services listed (or a suitable alternative, through an alternative ATOL holder or otherwise) for reasons of insolvency, the Trustees of the Air Travel Trust may make a payment to (or confer a benefit on) you under the ATOL scheme. You agree that in return for such a payment or benefit you assign absolutely to those Trustees any claims which you have or may have arising out of or relating to the non-provision of the services, including any claim against us, the travel agent (or your credit card issuer where applicable). You also agree that any such claims may be re-assigned to another body, if that other body has paid sums you have claimed under the ATOL scheme.

H2.4 We are also a member of ABTA (ABTA number V924X). If your travel arrangements do not include flights, ABTA will financially protect your travel arrangements in the same way except that, if already abroad, you will be returned to the point where your contracted arrangements with us commenced. Please go to www.abta.com for a copy of the guide to ABTA’s scheme of Financial Protection.

For further information about ABTA, the Code of Conduct and the arbitration scheme available to you if you have a complaint (see clause G), contact Consumer Affairs, ABTA, 30 Park Street, London SE1 9EQ tel 0901 201 5050 or www.abta.com.

H3. DATA PROTECTIONInformation about you and members of your party, including your names, contact details and any special needs, disabilities or dietary requirements is collected by us when you request information or make a booking with us. We may disclose this information to our service providers (who may be located outside the UK/EEA) for the purpose of providing you with your travel arrangements. Only information necessary for this purpose will be disclosed to them. In the case of air travel, it may be mandatory for us to disclose information for security and anti-terrorism purposes and any other purpose imposed on us by governments or airlines. We may use your information for the purposes set out in our data protection registration with the Office of the Information Commissioner. We may disclose the same to companies who act as data processors on our behalf. Some information, for example relating to your religion or health, may be “sensitive personal data” within the meaning of the Data Protection Act 1998. We need this information to cater for your needs, but it is collected on condition that we have your positive consent. If you do not agree to our use of your information, we cannot accept your booking. By making a booking with us, you agree to allow your insurers, their agents and medical staff to disclose relevant information to us in circumstances where we may need to act in the interests of everyone in the group with whom you are travelling. For example, if you contract an infectious illness whilst travelling, we may need to make special arrangements for you and ensure that you do not return with the group immediately. From time to time we may contact you by post with information about special offers or travel packages. If you do not wish to receive such information, please notify us. You have the right to ask us in writing for a

data subject access request form to obtain a copy of the information which we hold about you. You will be charged a fee for this. Any request should be addressed to

Viking River Cruises UK Limited Nelsons House, 83 Wimbledon Park Side London SW19 5LP.

H4. CHILDREN/MINORSDue to the nature of our cruises, we do not maintain specific facilities or services for children aboard cruise vessels. On all cruises children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by and share a cabin with a parent, legal guardian or other responsible adult over the age of 21. We regret that we are unable to accommodate children under the age of 12 and reserve the right to limit the number of children on board any particular vessel between the ages of 12 and 18.

H5. SUN DECK ACCESSDuring passage through locks or under low bridges, it may be necessary to close the sun deck for passenger use. In the interest of safety, sun deck closures are rigidly enforced.

H6. MOORING AND DOCKING FACILITIESIn some ports, ships may be required to dock alongside each other. On occasions this may result in your view being blocked. You may also need to pass through other ships when going ashore.

H7. JURISDICTION/GOVERNING LAWWe both agree that any dispute, claim or other matter of any description (and whether involving personal injury or not) which arises out of or in connection with your booking or travel must be dealt with under the ABTA Arbitration Scheme or brought in the Courts of England and Wales only (unless you are a resident of Scotland or Northern Ireland in which case any proceedings must be brought in either the Courts of your own country or those of England and Wales). We both also agree that English law (and no other) will apply to your contract (unless proceedings are brought in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in which case Scottish or Northern Irish law, as applicable, will apply instead). If this provision is not acceptable to you, you must tell us at the time of booking.

H8. CONDITIONS OF CARRIAGEWhen you travel by air, rail or by sea, your journey may be subject to certain international conventions such as the Warsaw Convention, Montreal Convention the Berne Convention or Athens convention. You agree that the transport company’s own Conditions of Carriage will apply to you on that journey. When arranging this transportation for you, we rely on the terms and conditions contained within these international conventions and those ‘Conditions of Carriage’. You acknowledge that all of these terms and conditions form part of your contract with us as well as the transport company. You can ask us to provide you with a copy of any of the conditions applicable to your journey. These may limit or exclude liability, especially in respect of lost or delayed baggage.

Day 1. Bergen. A mercantile marvel. Bergen will inspire awe with its majestic mountains and fjords. Walk the historic waterfront of Bryggen, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to the Hanseatic Museum. You might choose to take the funicular to the summit of Mt. Fløyen to survey views that seem to extend forever; on your return, pass the Bergen Theatre and Grieghallen, a modern concert hall.

Day 2. Haugesund. Home of Viking kings. Haugesund was an important power centre for the Vikings. An included tour highlights the town’s typical timber houses; the neoclassical City Hall, a confectionary vision in pink; the Haraldshaugen Monument to commemorate the unification of Norway in 872; and the stunning vistas from Steinsfjellet viewpoint. Meet a local family and truly experience Norwegian life during our home-hosted visit.

Days 3. Cruise the North Sea. Spend the day exploring your ship. Take in breathtaking views as you enjoy a leisurely swim in the Infinity Pool or luxuriate in The Spa’s sauna and Snow Grotto. Enroll in a hands-on cooking class or listen to an enlightening on board lecture about your next destinations. In the evening, sample regional fare in The Restaurant, then toast to your special voyage with a nightcap in the Explorers’ Lounge.

Day 4. Southampton. Gateway to London. One of England’s most celebrated maritime cities,

Southampton boasts the country’s longest surviving stretch of medieval walls. Just up the Thames, London does some boasting, too. Here, in one of Europe’s great cultural centres, you’ll see the Tower of London, Parliament and Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace and St. Paul’s Cathedral. Or, opt to explore the standing stones of Stonehenge.

Day 5. Le Havre. Gateway to Parisian pleasures. From historic Le Havre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site on a Seine River estuary, take a scenic drive through Normandy’s countryside. Your destination is the heart of Paris. You’ll have time on your own to ascend the Eiffel Tower for sweeping city views, or marvel at the Gothic glory of Notre Dame Cathedral. Alternately, choose to pay homage at D-Day beaches or stroll the pretty quay of the artists’ town of Honfleur.

Day 6. Cherbourg. Maritime might on Normandy’s coast. First developed by Vikings and later pivotal to the Napoleonic Wars, Cherbourg is a lovely port city. An included tour highlights its 12th-century abbey, stunning 30-acre gardens of the Château des Ravalets and narrow byways of the old city. See more gorgeous gardens of Normandy on an optional excursion.

Day 7. Cruise the Atlantic. Savour another day of relaxation on board. Melt into a Swedish massage at The Spa or find your inner calm with yoga on The Sports Deck. This

evening, watch a film al fresco at our Main Pool as we skim Atlantic waters under the glimmering stars.

Day 8. A Coruña. Galician glory. An undiscovered gem on Spain’s northwestern coast, A Coruña is Galicia province’s richest city and a favourite among local beachgoers. An included tour leads to the San Antón Castle and the Hercules Tower, an ancient lighthouse in operation since the 2nd century. From atop Mount San Pedro, take in spectacular views. Or perhaps you’ll opt for an excursion to Santiago de Compostela, the important pilgrimage site.

Day 9. Leixões. A toast to port and Porto. The port city of Leixões boasts a history that spans 1,600 years. Your included tour takes you to Porto, the charming city for which Portugal’s fortified wine is named. You’ll see its Clérigos Tower, the

historic quarter surrounding Santa Catarina Street, the neoclassical wonders along Avenida dos Aliados and the São Bento Railway Station, adorned with magnificent tilework. As an option, you can delve more deeply with a Porto walking tour.

Day 10. Lisbon. Ancient seafaring capital. Today, explore the labyrinthine streets of Lisbon’s Alfama district and the 12th-century Sé Cathedral. With an overnight stay in this dazzling capital of Spain’s northern Catalan region, you can take it all in as you work your way from architectural masterpieces to museums to open markets, perhaps ending the day with some tapas in one of the city’s many cafés.

Day 3. Toulon. Shades of Provence. Provence and the sparkling Cote d’Azur are the main attractions near the picturesque port of Toulon. You might choose to stay in Toulon and explore the Upper Town, designed by Parisian master-planner Baron Hausmann. Or you can set out for such nearby attractions as sparkling St. Tropez; or the town that perhaps epitomizes Provence the best, charming Aix-en-Provence.

Day 4. Monte Carlo. The Riviera’s gem. A playground for Europe’s famous and fashionable, the chic city of Monte Carlo in the petite kingdom of Monaco has some of the world’s most exclusive shopping, plus exciting nightlife a beautiful old port and an iconic Casino. Nearby on the French Riviera are such worthwhile sights as 16th- and 17th-century buildings of the artist village of St. Paul de Vence.

Perhaps with a visit to Brunelleschi’s famous “Duomo” with its iconic Renaissance dome, or a tour of the treasures of the legendary Uffizi Gallery. Other attractions of Tuscany include the famous wine-producing region of Chianti, as well as Pisa with its not-to-be-missed Leaning Tower.

Days 7 & 8. Rome. City of eternal splendours. Your journey ends in Rome, where an overnight stay allows you an evening to see the “Eternal City’s” charms by twilight. Discover the capital of Cataluña, the beautiful city of Barcelona. A small city by some standards, it is easy to get around and has much to offer visitors.

Take time to explore this architecturally significant city on your own, starting with the surreal masterpieces of Antoni Gaudi, including Casa Millá, Park Güell, and his greatest work, La Sagrada Familia cathedral. Rub elbows with locals at a lively tapas restaurant, stroll down the legendary Las Ramblas or meander through the city’s Gothic Quarter, all of which is just a short walk from the modernism of the Olympic Port. Enjoy two nights, including breakfasts and transfers, at a centrally located hotel.

Spend two days discovering the “Eternal City,” beautiful Rome. Famous for its Roman history, Rome is rich in art and culture. You may consider a visit to one of the city’s many fine museums or you might want to learn more about the city’s storied history by visiting a number of its famous landmarks, such as the Trevi Fountain, Arch of Constantine, Pantheon, Spanish Steps or the Colosseum, the largest amphitheatre ever built. Or perhaps, you would prefer a trip to the Vatican, a city within the city, and home to the Pope. Includes all hotels, breakfasts and transfers.

When we launched our ocean cruise line, we promised you a different cruise

experience, one that focuses on the destinations, exploration and discovery.

With our expanded 2016 itinerary offerings, we continue this tradition by giving

you the very best of the Mediterranean and new ways to explore it. We developed

new itineraries that highlight off-the-beaten-path ports like Corsica, birthplace

of Napoleon; Malta, historic home to the Knights of St. John; Sicily and Sardinia,

scenic islands with fascinating history; and Algiers, the glistening white city that

still echoes its Roman, Berber, Ottoman and French influences.

This is Europe as you’ve never seen it before—after high season—when the

Mediterranean is quieter and more contemplative. You’ll get closer to key sites,

experience cities like a local and enjoy festive seasonal traditions. So come on

board with us, and get a different view of the Mediterranean.
