3. Capitalization Rules:
First word in a sentence

Days of the week and months of the year
Holidays and special days
Names referring to God and the Bible
Name of a particular person, place, or thing
Initials
Titles of respect even when they are abbreviated (Dr. /Mrs./Mr./Miss/Rev.)
First word, last word and every important word in titles of books, stories,
poems, and songs
4. Period Rules:
Use a period at the end of every declarative sentence
Use periods after initials of names
Use periods after abbreviated titles of respect
Use periods after abbreviations of days and months

5. Comma Rules:
Use a comma after Yes or No at the beginning of a sentence
Use a comma after the name of the person you are speaking to in a sentence
Use a comma to separate the name of a town or a city from the name of a
state. No comma is needed if only the state is named
Use commas to separate words or groups of words in a series
Use commas to separate the parts of a date (Thursday, September 16, 2006)
When a date is given in a sentence, place a comma after the year, too, unless
de date comes at the end of the sentence
