“Shakespeare In A Box” Project

Learning Objective: To creatively demonstrate understanding of staging Shakespearian plays

You are the set designer for a theatre production of William Shakespeare’s Macbeth. As your first task, your director has asked you to build a diorama of a scene from the play. The project will be completed in three parts over the next four weeks.

TASK TWO: Diorama

You will begin building your diorama. It should be about the size of a shoebox

You will use primarily recycled materials in your diorama You will take photographs of your progress and bring them in for the

director to review You will remember to include a backdrop, props, and characters in

your diorama

You will provide photographic evidence of your progress for review on 14th May 2018

You will complete a written reflection about your work that is one page long.

You will write about what scene you depicted in your diorama and why.

You will write about the artistic choices you made in your diorama and why.

You will write about your personal experience with this project. Remember to include both successes and challenges.
