From the Desk of Chief Functionary

Greeting from RMKM team!

On Behalf of Rajasthan Mahila Kalyan Mandal we are heartily thankful to the VIBHA- ASHA for supporting the Education and Training Programme for the Mentally Challenged Children. Again we are here to present our year long hard work in Training Education & rehabilitation -of mentally challenged children.

As a team leader we are feeling very happy to present this efforts. Whole year has gone with good & bad experiences. Good experiences have motivated us to move on & bad experience has giving us learning. To which helped us to correct us in future.

With Vibha this is our 9th years of working this partnership has changed the life of disabled children, they have learning to live with dignity & this become possible with strong support of VIBHA & ASHA.

We have faced financial crisis to run the project smoothly because fund from ASHA did not reach to us till end of the year.. We trying our best to generate the funds at local level but this were not possible to fulfill the recurring cost of the Project.

We believe that this project has great possibility of scaling up. We have started with 128 children in 2003-04 now we are catering our services 219 CWSN at CBR & 85 day care students. This becomes possible due to VIBHA support only.

This year we have tried to support children through our different activities, like employment counseling, Special Olympics camps.

In Special Olympics 22 children have participated from CBR and Day care & though our employment counseling programme 16 children are working within community.

This year we got very good News from our CBR that one of our adult disabled has got permanent job in bank as office assistant.

Here we would like to congratulate dedicate staff of RMKM for working with these underprivileged children & helping term to lead their life independently.

VIBHA-ASHA ANNUAL REPORT2011-2012

Rajasthan Mahila Kalyan Mandal (RMKM)Overview of training education and rehabilitation of mentally retarded children

Vibha is supporting RMKM since 2003 in this relation we have tried to reach vulnerable disabled children who are out of our institutional services, through our community based rehabilitation programme. In this journey with VIBHA and ASHA we observed few milestones which has changed the attitude of community towards disabled children specifically mentally challenged children, in year 2006 we had set up a vocational training centre for disabled in year 2007 we have linked rural children through our CBR programme , in year 2010 we have constructed DAKSHA workshop for physically and mentally challenged disabled children in between we have also got support from ASHA in year 2008 when VIBHA had funds crisis and few activities where dropped , but these activities are very important for reaching to the community and regular rehabilitation process.

If we focused the impact of our programme we were able to rehabilitate 6 adult within the vocationally within the community ,inclusion is the important way of rehabilitation of special need children this year we have enrolled 6 children with special need within the normal school, our CBR worker not only focusing on special education but also linking child to his right by making him /her accessible to disability certificates and other Govt. provisions. CBR worker is advocating for his rights and trying to mobilized parents for rights of disabled.

Vibha supported our vocational training centre till 2008-09, in this period we have touch the new heights by winning E3 challenge of national trust (Govt. of India) to convert vocational training centre in to an enterprise, but sudden withdrawal of this project shaken us and now we are working hard to get support for this but still we are continuingpre vocational training activities for institutional children because this is rehabilitation need of special child reaching at age of 14.

This year with regular intervention we have focused on new case identification as result of this we have identified new 22 children and even at holly placed Pushkar(Town of Ajmer district, International famous tourist place) 40 children have identified who requires immediate care and support. If Vibha come forward to extend the programme in Pushkar we will able to reach these children.

with complaint of her physical deformity, speech

with male person.

After assessment we observed that Sonu is CP

mixed category child she had lack of socialization skills and irrelevant fear to male person.whensonu

was admitted in school she had balance problem and not used to work 4 step independently had

least interest in doing activity and geeing along with her peer.

We have admitted Sonu is class 2 inclusion along with this regular counseling and

irrelevant fear for male person totally removed. Now she walk independently.

Now, we are training in pre vocational skills like time concept and money concept skills

paper folding independently now she don’t need any help to do her ADL. This is great achievement
