About the apprenticeship Our Advanced Apprenticeships are site based and will take four years to be fully qualified. Apprentices work towards a technical certificate and an employer owned standard Level 3 qualification. You will be fully trained in all aspects of the Wind industry within the Siemens bespoke programme. After this you will be placed at various sites onshore and offshore sites across the UK, gaining valuable experience- the sort that will help you understand our methods, resources and procedures. You will then complete your final year in order to demonstrate your ability to be a Wind Technician. Some of your day to day duties will include: Hydraulic system repairs Troubleshooting electrical issues and fault finding Component replacement Qualifications Required GCSE's or equivalent at Grade C or above which must include Maths, English Language and Science and Level 2 ICT is an advantage. Skills RequiredThis role is for aspiring individuals who are highly motivated and keen to start building up work experience while progressing academically within an engineering environment.

You must also be able to work with efficiency, accuracy and to be able to meet deadlines.

Possess a strong commitment and enthusiasm to the role and the apprenticeship

Good manual skills and the ability to work with electrical and hydraulic systems

Good level of computer literacy Good money management skills. Care and attention to detail, adhering to all health

and safety requirements.

As this Apprenticeship is a travelling role, it is essential that you are able and willing to work away from home and demonstrate a high level of flexibility and dependability.

A willingness to work offshore is required and a full driving licence is required by the end of the second year. Please note this role is physically demanding and, as it is very likely that you will be deployed to an offshore site, you must be able to swim.   A head for heights is also essential to fulfil this role.
