Student Government Association PresidentAndy Chen

I believe that I am the perfect candidate for SGA President because I am committed to helping students prepare for their future. I want to help students truly maximize their potential and be successful in every way imaginable. As a dedicated student, experienced leader, and passionate Colonel, I have a lot to offer to the school community. After experiencing three years of high school, being on sports teams, participating in clubs, and keeping busy with other extracurricular activities, I can personally relate to the stress that every high schooler deals with. I want to represent the student body because I know what we students need in order to be successful, as well as what we need to enjoy our time at Magruder. If I become SGA President, I will fight for what is crucial to our growth as students and people. Let’s work together to change our school and community in a way that will allow us students to thrive academically and socially during the most important years of our lives!

Harshaan GrewalI, believe that I am the best possible person to lead this school as SGA President. As President, I can promise change for every student of Magruder High School. I will encourage full equality for students and teachers in the school. By encouraging equality, students will be given the best possible opportunity to learn, and teachers will be given the best possible learning materials to ensure high quality learning environments for the students. As part of my initiative to help the students, I will make sure that the needs and wants of the students of Magruder are heard by our staff, and that no one student is underrepresented. I will stay true to my word, and will do everything in my power to make sure that all students can learn properly at Magruder High School. I will also personally sponsor fundraisers and activities in order to ensure quality learning environments. My plan as SGA President will also make sure that students enjoy their time at Magruder High School, instead of being piled with work. Thank you for everyone's support.

Jazzmin HarrisonHi, my name is Jazzmin Harrison and I am currently SGA’s Public Relations coordinator. I am excited to say that I am running for 2016-2017 SGA President. This year the SGA team and I planned multiple spirit weeks, pep rallies, the past Activity Fair, and many more. We have been successful in our events and loved the enthusiasm our peers presented to us. Because I am an experienced SGA member, I am very trustworthy, and know what my potential duties are. Setting positive examples for the SGA team, and our school is very important to me. If I were elected 2016-2017 SGA President, I would keep in constant communication with the graduating SGA members for advice, and guidance for smooth planning, and exhilarating fun. I would also make improvements to past year events, striving for success. My ultimate goal is to help create exciting, opportunistic, and educational events that us students can connect as a school. Thank you. Go Colonels

Student Government Association President

Montgomery County Representative

Bobbi Sherman

I believe I am qualified to be Magruder High School’s MCR-SGA representative because of my current relationship with the organization. This past school year, I was a member on the MCR-SGA executive board; an experience that has made me extremely familiar with the practices and structures of countywide student government. I plan on bridging the current gap between our school and MCR-SGA by improving our overall communication. I plan on representing Magruder High School in an avenue that we are currently underrepresented in. Thank you!

Benjamin Ramos

As SGA President, my main goal would be to increase student involvement. Non-elected students will be able to join their elected representatives and help give input to the student government. By increasing outreach, both on social media and through in-school announcements, opportunities to become involved will constantly be available and encouraged. Making the student government truly a part of the student body will be a major step I hope to take as SGA President.

12th Grade Representative

Remington RoMy name is Remington Ro and I am running for 12th Grade Representative. Being a representative is not easy, which is why you need someone who can take action. During my senior year, I want to make sure that my fellow seniors have a say in what goes on at our school and be able to voice their opinion. As a representative, I will expand in-school activities to the best of my ability and keep our surroundings safe and fun. Do you want a fun homecoming and exciting pep rallies? Then trust the man that will represent you the way you want and vote for Remington!

Soo Oh

I’m Soo Oh, and I’m running for 12th Grade Rep in order to present our class’ opinions in the most effective, efficient, and direct manner. I have been a diligent, resolute, and academically competent student at Magruder High School consistently, and I am more than capable of productively representing OUR Class of 2017. I will firmly put forth any and all of our class’ questions, concerns, and/or suggestions to implement greatly beneficial changes for us. I will make certain that, together, we can make our SENIOR YEAR the best that it can be.

11th Grade Representative

10th Grade Representative

Maiya Margolis

I am currently the 10th grade SGA Rep and I have enjoyed planning the school events this year such as Homecoming and the winter and spring spirit weeks. As 11th grade Rep I would try to continue the spirit weeks we had this year because they were such a hit. I would also try to help realize the idea of a winter or spring dance. Hopefully during the 2016-2017 school year, the SGA can implement a school-wide service project to either benefit our school or community.

Alexa Young

I believe that I am qualified for the position of 10th grade representative. I’ve been involved with SGA since elementary school. In middle school, I was grade-wide vice president for all 3 years. In 8th grade I was a logistics director in Montgomery County Junior Council (MCJC). There I worked with middle schoolers from all around MCPS to address issues in middle schools and vote on county wide issues. Next year a goal of mine will be to help involve the class of 2019 in SGA and MCR.
