LATEST TECHNOLOGY ENGINES. PETROL OR DIESEL

In addition to the 1.8 MPi Petrol engine, the i30 Series II also features a more powerful 2.0 litre GDi variant, as well as a 1.6 litre Diesel engine, which offers exhilarating, off-the-line acceleration with up to 300 Nm of torque (with Dual Clutch Transmission at 1,750 - 2,500 RPM) in combination with exceptional fuel efficiency.

The Elantra Series II features a highly advanced 1.8 litre MPi Petrol engine made of strong yet light aluminium that delivers up to 110 kW of power and 178 Nm of torque (peak power and torque at different RPM).

Available with a choice of two transmission systems, this light engine also incorporates Continuously Variable Valve Timing technology on both cam shafts, helping to deliver significantly greater fuel efficiency - as little as 5.6L/100km on a highway cycle. When combined, the Elantra Series II’s powerful performance, exceptionally low fuel consumption and reduced CO2 emissions all add up to one of the best performers in its class.

Sporty looks and dynamic proportions set both the i30 Series II and Elantra Series II apart from all their competitors, with a look that is both eye-catching and sophisticated.

It’s also a key element throughout every phase of engineering and production, and the reason why every i30 Series II and new Elantra Series II incorporates high-tensile strength steel applied to safety-critical areas for a super-strong chassis. Along with steel reinforced door modules and intrusion beams to provide greater protection in the event of a collision.

Drive any vehicle within our Small Car Range and you can be assured it’s been designed and built to achieve Australia’s maximum 5-star ANCAP safety rating; because at Hyundai your safety is our priority, first and foremost.

ACTIVE SAFETYANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM (ABS) WITH ELECTRONIC BRAKEFORCE DISTRIBUTION (EBD)

To help keep you out of danger in emergency situations, the ABS with EBD work to help prevent the brakes from locking up and optimises braking pressure between the front and rear wheels to shorten braking distances.

BRAKE ASSIST SYSTEM (BAS)

BAS measures the speed with which the brake pedal is depressed. When panic braking is detected, the Brake Assist System automatically develops maximum brake boost in order to mitigate a driver’s tendency to brake without enough force.

TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM (TCS)

The TCS assists by reducing wheel spin on slippery or uneven road surfaces.

VEHICLE STABILITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (VSM)

If you find yourself in a situation where your vehicle begins to skid away from your intended direction, VSM applies steering assistance, guiding you to the correct steering position to help you maintain control.

REAR PARK ASSIST

When reversing, rear sensors emit an audible warning sound to alert you to objects that might be outside your field of vision.

AUTOMATIC DUSK SENSING HEADLIGHTS

To increase driving safety and the visibility of your vehicle to other drivers, headlights are automatically turned on as daylight begins to fade. (Not available in Active, Active X and Tourer variants on the i30 Series II and Active and SE variants on the Elantra Series II).

LED DAYTIME RUNNING LAMPS (DRL)

LED DRLs create a striking impression and increase visibility of the vehicle to other road users. (Available only in SR, SR Premium, Premium, Tourer and Tourer Elite variants of the i30 Series II).

REAR VIEW CAMERA

To assist you while parking in tight spots and to help avoid accidents, a rear view camera displays the area behind the vehicle. (Available in all variants of the i30 Series II and in Elite and Premium variants of the Elantra Series II).

PASSIVE SAFETYIn the event of an impact, a range of passive safety features will help protect you and your passengers.

7-AIRBAGS

The i30 Series II is equipped with a comprehensive seven airbag safety system, including driver and front passenger airbags (to reduce head and neck injuries in the event of a head-on collision), nearside and offside curtain airbags (improving protection for the head in case of a side collision) and front side thorax airbags (to protect the chest and pelvis more effectively) and driver’s knee airbag. (Available only in the i30 Series II model range).

KNEE AIRBAG

Installed just below the steering column in the i30 Series II, the knee airbag is designed to reduce the risk of serious injuries to the driver’s legs and knee in the event of a frontal collision. (Available only in the i30 Series II model range).

The new i30 Series II Tourer combines European styling with an abundance of extra space and versatile seating. The stylish new i30 Series II includes SR and SR Premium variants that are both tailor-made for fun. They offer a sportier look thanks to road-gripping 17" alloy wheels in a gunmetal grey finish, an updated sports front grille, LED Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) and a lower rear diffuser. The good looks continue inside with the addition of leather appointed seats* to the already premium interior and in the SR premium variant, the cabin is filled with light from the Panorama glass roof.

But the real fun comes from the SR range’s increased performance. Both variants are powered by a 2.0 GDi Petrol paired with your choice of 6-speed manual or automatic transmission, offering more power and more torque than the other 1.8 MPi Petrol engines in the Active range, as well as a bespoke, sports suspension developed for Australian conditions. The Eco-driving indicator in the instrument panel displays a green LED light to indicate fuel-efficient driving and an ECO indicator displays a green light on A/T only. M/T variants have a shift indicator suggesting most efficient shift points.

The Elantra’s optional six speed automatic transmission is lighter and shorter than previous generations and has less moving parts to optimise engine performance and boost fuel economy.

The smooth six speed manual transmission is economical, quiet and ultra-smooth, designed to deliver many years of trouble free operation.

At the heart of the Elantra Series II lies a highly advanced engine (purpose-designed and built by Hyundai) that’s coupled to a choice of two transmission systems.

The 1.8 litre MPi engine delivers up to 110kW of power at 6,500 RPM while producing 178 Nm of torque at 4,700 RPM.

This light engine, together with the use of Continuously Variable Valve Timing technology on both cam shafts, helps deliver great fuel efficiency.

An electronic throttle control accurately manages air intake and engine torque, which further improves driveability, responsiveness and economy.

In addition, Elantra Series II’s suspension has been tuned specifically for Australian conditions, providing you with an effortless and assured road-hugging drive.
