Vietnam Youth Icon is a project run by AIESEC Hanoi for the first

time in July 2013. This project aims at helping university students

create and develop an ideal image of a young Vietnamese

representative based on self­leadership skills as well as world

issue knowledge. Through our to­ be­presented activities during

the project, we desire to improve not only the Vietnamese youth

image but also to have positive impacts on society by raising

students’ awareness and encourage them to take action.

What is New onVietnam youthicon 5 ?

Why Aec ?In 2015,  Viet Nam off icial ly  joins The

ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).   I t

wi l l  be a dynamic economic region,

increasing competit iveness and

integration  in the global  economy.

Meanwhi le ,  our nation  is   facing various

diff icult ies ,  especial ly  in  infrastructure

and human resources.  Thus,  AEC offers

our  labors both opportunit ies and

chal lenges.  Real izing that ,  we organize

this project on purpose of rais ing

Vietnamese youths’  awareness of these

chal lenges and opportunit ies as wel l  as

the  impact of AEC on  labor force  in

order to understand what they need to

do to have competit ive advantage over

others .  

Why Self-leadership ?As you know, one objective of Vietnam Youth Icon  is

developing self  –  leadership ski l ls .  We bel ieve that before you

become a  leader of anyone,  you have to  lead yourself   f irst .

Vietnam Youth Icon 5 wi l l  provide a platform where you are

empowered with self­ leadership ski l ls  and soft  ski l ls  to create

an  ideal   image of a young Vietnamese representative by

which youth development  is  directed.

Project is a series of indoor and outdoor camp

activities with team working, discussions and

presentation. You are divided into several small

groups of 6 – 8 people to work together during

the camps. Besides that, we also invite experts,

professors, researchers to come to share and

inspire you through dialogues with them.
