Foreword to the Vienna Masters 2013After the spectacular start of the LONGINES GLOBAL CHAMPIONS TOUR in front of the cityhall of Vienna in 2012, the equestrian community is looking forward with excitement to the return of the most prestigious series of tournaments across the globe when it „revisits“ Vienna in September 2013 and at which the elite of the show jumping world will again be present.As a special venue in front of a unique backdrop, and as one of the chosen for the LONGINES GLOBAL CHAMPIONS TOUR, alongside Shanghai, Wiesbaden, Hamburg, Cannes, Monte Carlo, Lausanne and London, Vienna will again attract a great deal of worldwide attention.The jumping (CSI *****) and dressage (CDI ****) competitions will be broadcasted by international TV stations including ORF, Eurosport and Al Jazeera.

Highlights of 2012 Vienna Masters thrilled more than 20,000 visitors in its first year.

Rathausplatz in Vienna was a spectacular venue for the first 5-star jumping tournament to be held in Austria.

The best attended tournament in the world: 14 out of the top 15 riders were participating! 220 horses and 120 riders started in 16 jumping competitions and 2 dressage competitions.

The sporting highlights were the LONGINES GLOBAL CHAMPIONS TOUR presen-ted by Power Horse, the LGT Vienna Masters and the Vienna Dressage Masters.

On the stairs of the Vienna town hall, the VIP area was the meeting point at the event for more than 400 VIP guests.

The highpoint of the show programme was the guest appearance of the Spanish Riding School.

Society and Side EventsIn 2012 the Vienna Masters and its leg of the LONGINES GLOBAL CHAMPIONS TOUR was the hot spot of national and international society. In the Volkshalle of the Viennese Town Hall, and in a lavish VIP tent covering the steps in front of the town hall, more than 400 guests were entertained by world class equestrian sport while enjoying the exclusive VIP catering in an astonishing atmosphere.Numerous celebrities from the world of sport, politics, economy, art and soci-ety were present at this event.
