VIDEO HOOK SHOOTING REVIEW

This day was a very productive day as we feel we can use several pieces of footage that fit our music genre such as the image below the effective close ups represent wealth and fame which is a common theme in the hip hop and R&B music genre.

Effective shots

On this day there were several effective mid shots we had taken that I think we can reuse when we re shoot this scene, such as the shot below. The costume I was wearing fits my music genre as it is trendy and contains all the signifiers of R&B such as jewellery, sun classes and modern trendy clothing as seen by mostly celebrities of the R&B music genre..

Faults in location There were several faults in our choice of location some shots we had

odd colour curtains visible that were hard to keep out of the shots, so in conclusion we cannot use this location because we cannot use the camera angles we require such as a side on mid shot as the un uniform background is far to prominent. In order to fix this problem in future I believe it would be most beneficial to use the green screen as this background will be completely solid and flat eliminating the problem of the creased curtains and the odd background and completely black it out when it comes to the editing phase.

Conclusion

So in conclusion we will not use this location but it was good practice for use as it enabled use the lighting and the filters to see what shots would be effective and what minor glitches we have to be aware of and erradicate in our location when we reshoot. Another thing I noticed was the lighting we used was too harsh on our actor making the footage quality poor and look unprofessional.
