❖ They let you share your photos…

❖ …without risking theft

But they can be ugly!

The Problems with Watermarks

❖ Can disrupt viewing experience

❖ Weakens photograph

❖ Some artists charge a fee to remove the watermark, which alienates customers

So, how do we get around using watermarks while still protecting art?

Use them to your advantage!Use it like a business card, and direct customers to your portfolio. Or, make your watermark your logo. Keep it professionally designed, and tucked away in a corner of the image. You may also need more than one. A custom logo on a glamour shot would look out of place if it’s the same one used for a nature picture!
