BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE
The weather, calendar and sore joints certainly tell us it is winter. But the gardener in us can hardly wait for thesnow to melt and the return of the robins. Now is the time to plan our gardens, whether it is flower, food, shrubsor trees. I saw an interesting article in Fine Gardening that suggested trying to plan a flower garden using thesame color plants. They need to be different heights, color hues and tints and tones.
Most of our small thunderbird signs need to be replaced due to the last two hard winters. Any help cuttingthem out, painting them and putting them in the ground would be appreciated.
One of our biggest jobs this year is to repair the covered bridge by the main entrance. Mike and Randy willassess the damage as soon as the weather permits.
As I am sure you have noticed, the large Thunderbird is in need of some paint. Please let us know if this is ajob you would like to help with.
Just so you know, April is the Beautification’s membership drive. We hope to visit everyone and give you alist of things that need to be done to make our lake beautiful. You pick the job or jobs and do it on your owntime. If you are unable to help, a monetary gift would be appreciated.
It is said that more than 500,000 people are currently growing much of their own food in their yards or ascommunity gardens. I know how happy I am to eat that first tomato or green onion. YUM! Gardening gets usoutside to soak up some vitamin C, get some needed exercise and get rid of the winter Blahs. So buy a seedcatalog, plan a container garden and most of all enjoy the beauty that surrounds Lake Seneca.

RECREATION COMMITTEE
As of February 28, 2015 we have in the checking account $364.32
Santa’s Visit on December 7th was a lot of fun. Around 20 children participated. Each child received a little bagwith Christmas candy, candy canes and a Christmas pencil. We served cupcakes and punch & coffee after theirvisit with Santa. Don Swiatkowski was Santa and had a lot of fun with the kids. Thanks to Pam Sheets for the cupcakes, Lynn & Nancy Elston for the candy & pencils and Don & CarolSwiatkowski for the punch and candy canes. Thanks to Don for being Santa for the day.
New Year’s Eve, What can I say? Once again, another fun filled event. The potluck at 7:00 pm was wonderfuland the band starting at 8:00 pm was great. Lots of wonderful food, laughter and dancing was had by all. Wehad 50/50 drawings during each break that the band took. Overall, we collected enough money to pay the band$550. What a night! Everyone who attended said they had a great time. There were even some new memberswho attended. For those who couldn’t attend, we really missed you.
It is with mixed emotions that I have made the decision to resign from the Recreation Committee asTreasurer/Secretary. I will be glad to help with this committee, but I will no longer be responsible for planningand executing the activities. There are a few people that think the committee should continue. I’m asking thosepeople to step forward and take over. The committee needs more members, so if there is anyone out there whowould like to participate in the planning and implementation of the activities for the community of Lake Seneca, please contact the LSPOA office. Thanks to all who have helped with and participated in this committee’s activities. Without these volunteers, theactivities would not have happened. I cannot thank you all enough.
HAPPY EASTER everyone! Happy & Safe SPRING/SUMMER to all!!

Letter from the Editor…….
As everyone can see, people that attend the activities here at our beautiful lake have a good time. The fellowshipand sharing are the best part of all. We would like to see some of the younger members and their families get moreinvolved. Everyone’s ideas are welcome here.
We are in desperate need of people who will take the time to be on our Board of Trustees as well. I know it is acommitment but isn’t your community worth the effort? It’s easy to say you are busy with work and your familiesbut the value of our lake is at stake here. Won’t you think about this? Any effort is completely welcome.
Thank You,Pam Sheets
