• Sustav se sastoji od brane, dvije elektrane i plovnog puta. Konačno rješenje odabrano je nakon dugotrajnog i pažljivog analiziranja raznih varijanti. Analize su obuhvatile različita znanstvena istraživanja i ispitivanja hidraulike, nanosa, konstrukcija, materijala i drugog. Tek nakon toga iznađeno je konačno rješenje. Ono je odabrano kako slijedi.
• Na sredini rijeke nalazi se preljevna sekcija. Dovodni kanali i nepreljeveni dio brane nalazese uz obale. Elektrane su smještene pribranskiuz dovodne kanale. Građevine plovnog putasmještene su na lijevoj obali

Brana je betonska gravitacionog tipa. Ukupna dužina u kruni iznosi 2309,47 m, s kotom krune na 185,00 m n.m tj najvećom visinom građevine od 181 m. Preljevni dioPreljevni dio smješten na sredini brane dug je 483 m, ima 23 temeljna ispusta i 22 preljevna polja. Veličina temeljnih ispusta je 7x9 m s dnom cijevi na koti 90 m n.m. Svjetla širina preljevnih poja je 8 m, s dnom na koti 158 m n.m. Na dnu preljevnih polja nalaze se bučniceza uništenje energije preljevnog mlaza.

S obje strane preljevne sekcije brane smješteni su nepreljevni dijelovi brane s dovodnim kanalima za elektrane. Pri koti vode u akumulaciji od 180,40 m n.m. moguće je ukupno ispuštati 102,5×103 m3/s vode kroz branu na koju je količinu s obzirom na zaštitu od poplava, sustav dimenzioniran.
