Dispomed is putting the spotlight on veterinary anesthesia machines. This quick and simple purchase guide will help you to determine your customer’s needs while considering the different characteristics of our anesthesia machines.

IDENTIFY YOUR CUSTOMER’S NEEDS

There are several types of anesthesia machines on the market today. Identifying your customer’s needs will help determine which machine will best suit his practice.

What space is available for the anesthesia machine?

• The smallest foot print for the anesthesia machine is the Coaxial and the Elite.

Do they prefer the machine to be wall-mount or mobile?

• The Optimax, Access 2, Compact and NRB are available wall-mounted. • If this is their first anesthesia machine, we strongly recommend a mobile unit, in order to move

it from one room to another, or for emergencies.

Do they use a veterinary monitor or an anesthesia ventilator during interventions?

• The Coaxial, Elite and the Optimax (mobile) come with a shelf for easy installation of a monitor.

Is hypothermia a concern during surgery?

• The Coaxial breathing circuit, found on the Coaxial and on the Optimax with coaxial absorber, preheats the gas inhaled by the patient thus reducing the possibility of hypothermia.

What kind of animals do they treat?

• If they treat a lot of small animals (cats or smaller), we recommend working with a Bain circuit adaptor, as an option to add to the anesthesia machine, because of its lower breathing resistance. There are no check valves or carbon dioxide absorbent granules in the circuit to increase resistance. This makes it the ideal accessory for small patients and for those with breathing problems.

Do they want to use more than one type of anesthetic gas?

• The only machine that allows for 2 vaporizers mounted at the same time is the Optimax (mobile or wall-mount).
