Queridos feligreses,

Nuestra parroquia recibirá un cambio en la asignación del

obispo Vásquez para nuestro vicario parroquial. El Padre

Amado Ramos será asignado como vicario parroquial de

Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe en Temple a partir del 1 de

Julio. Ha servido a nuestra parroquia durante tres años con

gran dedicación, competencia y eficacia. En nombre de San-

ta Cruz, quiero extender al Padre Amado nuestro agradeci-

miento y oraciones mientras continúa en el camino del min-

isterio sacerdotal en la Iglesia.

El padre Rito Dávila comenzará como nuestro nuevo vicario

parroquial el 1 de Julio. Anteriormente, el padre Rito sirvió

en Santa Cruz en este cargo del 2010-11. Fue ordenado

sacerdote en 2005 en su tierra natal de Nicaragua y ha

servido en la Diócesis de Austin desde 2007. Actualmente,

el Padre Rito es el vicario parroquial de la Iglesia de la Res-

urrección, Emaús en Lakeway.

Recordemos a los sacerdotes que sirven a nuestra parroquia

en oración para que su servicio sea sostenido por nuestro

apoyo amoroso.

Señor nuestro Dios, quien al gobernar a tu pueblo hace uso

del ministerio de los sacerdotes, concede a estos hombres

una obediencia perseverante a tu voluntad, para que por su

ministerio y vida puedan ganar gloria para ti en Cristo nues-

tro Señor. Amén.

Dear Parishioners,

Our parish will receive a change in assignment from Bishop

Vasquez for our parochial vicar. Father Amado Ramos will

be assigned as the parochial vicar for Our Lady of Guada-

lupe in Temple effective July 1. He has served our parish

for three years with great dedication, competence and ef-

fectiveness. On behalf of Santa Cruz, I want to extend to

Father Amado our appreciation and prayers as he contin-

ues in the path of priestly ministry in the Church.

Father Rito Davila will begin as our new parochial vicar on

July 1. Father Rito previously served at Santa Cruz in this

capacity from 2010-11. He was ordained to the priest-

hood in 2005 in his homeland of Nicaragua and has

served in the Diocese of Austin since 2007. Presently Fa-

ther Rito is the parochial vicar of the Church of the Resur-

rection, Emmaus in Lakeway.

Let us remember the priests who serve our parish in prayer

so that their service will be upheld by our loving support.

Lord our God, who in governing your people make use of

the ministry of Priests, grant to these men a persevering

obedience to your will, so that by their ministry and life

they may gain glory for you in Christ our Lord. Amen.

May 25-26, Sixth Sunday of Easter

Through the Risen Christ, we are given the gift

of the Holy Spirit. It is the Spirit that fills us with

hope and joy, even in the face of suffering. This

same Spirit showers us with a love and truth

that is beyond “worldly” standards and wisdom.

It is God’s Spirit that transforms us from a mere

collection of isolated individuals or strangers

into a community of brothers and sisters. This

solidarity, the fruit of the Spirit, “presumes the

creation of a new mindset which thinks in terms

of community and the priority of life of all over

the appropriation of goods by a few.” (The Joy

of the Gospel, 188)

MAYO 25-26, Sexto Domingo de Pascua A través del Cristo Resucitado, se nos da el don

del Espíritu Santo. Es el Espíitu el que nos llena

de esperanza y gozo, incluso enfrente del su-

frimiento. Este mismo Espíritu nos baña con un

amor y verdad que está más allá de los

estándares y la sabiduría “terrenal”. Es el Espíritu

de Dios el que nos transforma, de un grupo de

individuos solos o extraños, en una comunidad de

hermanos y hermanas. Esta solidaridad, el fruto

famoso debate contra los Dominicos en el siglo XIII, en el cual

defendió el gran pribilegio de nuestra Señora de su Inmaculada

Concepción, poniendo las bases para que la Iglesia más tarde lo

definiera como dogma de la fe católica. Fue filmada en lugares

del bello monasterio antiguo en Europa. En la película, vemos a

Scotus como un apóstol sencillo y valiente defensor de fe contra

el gobierno opresor y anti-católico que está en el poder. Su de-

fensa pública del papado como cabeza de la Iglesia even-

tualmente causó que fuera exiliado de su país.
