Verona is a city in Veneto, northern Italy.
It’s situated in a loop of the Adige river near Lake Garda.
Verona’s colors are yellow, and blue.
It is one of the most elegant cities in Italy.
It is the setting of the famous Romeo and Juliet play written by William Shakespeare.

Verona is the second biggest city in Veneto.
It was founded by the Etruscans.
Verona became an official Roman city in 89 B.C.
It was under the Scaliger's rule from 1260-1387.
Then it became Austrian territory on January 18, 1798 when Napoleon signed the Treaty of Campo. They got it back in 1866.

It was flooded in 1239. Verona is a UNESCO site.

The Gothic domination began in 489 A.D.
The fall of the Roman Empire caused Verona to be the site of Odoacer’s defeat by the Ostrogothic king, Theodoric.
The power remained to the Gothic’s until the Gothic War with the exception of one single day in 541 A.D.

It means “Old castle” in Italian. It was built in 1354 by the
hated tyrant Cangrande 2 Scaliger.
It was the most important military construction of the Scaliger Dynasty that ruled the city in the middle ages.
There are seven towers with four main buildings on the inside.

The Roman Amphitheatre is the third largest theatre in Italy.
It fits more than 22,000 spectators.
It is now used for operas, and other cultural shows, but before it was used for gladiator fights.

It was a Gothic-Romanesque cathedral.
It is made up of a number of different buildings.
