Simultaneous Hyperspectral Imaging CameraHyperspectral Imaging in One Shot!VERDE™ is the only hyperspectral imaging camera that collects all spectral and spatial data simultaneously—in as little as three milliseconds. VERDE™ works without either scanning or switching lters, using our proprietary patented Simultaneous Hyperspectral Imaging (SHI) technology to collect the entire hypercube in one image. With a live-display mode, it is easy to exactly identify the eld you are measuring. It’s all in a surprisingly a ordable and compact portable unit with no moving parts!

How it works

Image Reconstruction

Take a sh

ot

Hypercube = Image + Spectra

Cursor extruded in the z direction of hypercube gives

spectral content of pixel

Every x-y slice of stack is the spectral content of an image

at a given wavelength

Raw image is a 2-dimensional di racted image of object

in eld of view. Note middle image is undistorted view of

scene - used for focusing

Possible Applications

Combustion AnalysisFor dynamic events such as combustion phenomena, repeating the experiment is often impossible, for every event is di erent. By capturing both image and spectral data in one shot, the VERDE™ camera o ers a distinct advantage over slower sequential methods.

Flaring Matchstick

Fluorescence MicroscopyThe VERDE camera comes standard with a C-mount adapter for microscope-based spectral imaging of uorescence phenomena. It can characterize both static and dynamic events because it captures everything in a single shot. VERDE also preserves quantitative information so that species with similar spectral pro les but di ering emission intensities—perhaps caused by varying dye absorption—could be distinguished.

Fluorescent Beads

In Vivo ImagingThe single-shot capture of data is a particularly useful feature for in vivo hyperspectral imaging where xing or stabilizing a sample is di cult.

Color Analyis and Quality ControlIn addition to its simple point-and-shoot format, there are no moving parts in the VERDE™! This handheld and robust design makes it suitable for eld work and industrial quality control environments involving color monitoring and control. Examples include plasma monitoring in semiconductor foundries, color quality control for fabrics, paints, foods, computer monitors and TVs, etc.

1Variation in pixel spectra over a homogenous and uniformly illuminated target.2This measurement uses reference targets with NIST-traceable reference re ectance spectra. The speci cation notes the absolute percentage di erence between the VERDE™ measurement and the reference value at each wavelength.3This parameter is a measure of real space projected on a single pixel of the image. The VERDE™ camera records scenes via a physical aperture at the input of the camera. M is the magni cation of the optic needed to convey the scene to the aperture of the camera—usually a lens or microscope.
