Roots and Shoots Welcome to

“Ideal conference, meeting and

training centre, close to the heart

of London ”

Roots and Shoots provides vocational training for

young people from the inner city, mainly from the

London boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark. We aim

to give them the skills and self-confidence that will

equip them for work. The eco building, completed in

2005 and officially opened in 2007 by HRH The Prince

of Wales, is the hub of Roots and Shoots’ activities. It

is clad in wood with sustainable energy and other

environmental features.

Who we are

Our well-equipped conference hall and smaller meet-

ing rooms are available to hire. Located in

Central London, just south of the river, Roots and

Shoots is an ideal location for organisations looking

for affordable space for hosting conferences, lectures

and meetings. You will be able to enjoy our eco

building and take time out mid-schedule to relax in

our wonderful gardens.

Event hire

We provide in-house catering for a wide range of events from teas, coffees to

affordable lunch’s and buffets from a wide selection of standard menus prepared by

our head chef. We combine professionalism and efficiency with friendliness and

flexibility, that will make you want to come back to relive your experience.

Hall

Ideal for conferences, training programs, business events, corpo-

rate seminars, away days and much more.

The hall is fitted with a 66inch plasma screen, PA and loop system.

A laptop is also available to hire to connect to the plasma screen.

Meeting Rooms

Each meeting room space is fitted with a digital projector,

speakers and screens.

The two meeting rooms are located close to the hall, in the

reconditioned 19th-century building.

They are often used in conjunction with the main hall as

light, pleasant break-out spaces.

The Wildlife Garden at Roots and Shoots is freely avail-able for relaxation during your event and for guided tours and/or sessions on Wildlife in the City as well as talks/tours on the sustainable features of the Learning Centre and how it is being used as habitats for wildlife. The gar-den has an apiary with an observation hive – visits to the hives and talks about bees and honey can be arranged in the summer months. The Wildlife Garden Study Room has exhibits relating to urban wildlife and the use of the garden for education.

Catering services Roots and Shoots endeavours to provide you with high quality

catering. Vegetarian lunches are a specialty, vegan, gluten-free and

other requirements can be catered for. Products and ingredients are,

where possible, Fair Trade or organic. Select from our popular menu

for a lunch that suits you. The Baking and lunches are all prepared

and cooked on site. We will also prepare your menu so that it meets

your taste and any specific dietary requirements you or your guests

might have.
