Call us on 01983 86 55 66 and we’ll help you find the right flights. TRAVEL TO THE HOTEL You will need to make your own return journey from the airport to the hotel. Using the Vaporetto system is just like using the metro, except on water! 1) The public water ferry (Vaporetto) from Venice airport to Lido. This is the Alilaguna (www.alilaguna.it) public boat. It takes around one hour and costs 13 euros one way. One suitcase and one piece of hand luggage are free on the journey. Extra pieces will cost 3 each. On arrival, exit the Marco Polo airport, turn left and follow the signs to the Alilaguna water bus via the covered walkway. This will take approximately 10 minutes. If you haven't already purchased your ticket you can do so from the kiosk in the airport. Pre-booking the ticket on-line can be cheaper. You will however need to exchange your printed voucher for your ticket on arrival. You need to catch just one vaporetto. Take the Blue Line (Linea Blu) water bus to the Lido, which departs every 15/30 minutes depending on the time of day. 2) If you arrive in good time and want a scenic tour of the Grand Canal, take the frequent airport transfer bus to Piazzale Roma and Vaporetto Line 1 (Pier D), to Lido. From Marco Polo airport, the ATVO bus to Piazzale Roma costs 6 Euros one way and the stop is directly outside the arrivals hall near doors C and D. Tickets can be bought at the ATVO counter inside the hall or from a ticket machine near the bus stop. The journey takes 20 minutes and the bus leaves every half hour. From Piazzale Roma take a vaporetto Linea 1 (Line 1) from stop D to the Lido, which goes along the whole length of the Grand Canal and gives you a great sightseeing tour of Venice. The journey time of the vaporetto is about 1 hour and the price is 7 Euros, or if you arrive very early, a day pass costs 20 Euros. You must validate your ticket before boarding. 3) Book a private transfer (fastest but very pricey) to our accommodation. This can be booked in advance with Viator (www.viator.com) or at the airport upon arrival. Make your way to the pier as described in option 1. Take a direct taxi to the Lido costing 100 Euros, which takes approximately half an hour (although you can barter, and you can share with others). DIRECTIONS FROM LIDO TO HOTEL RIGEL On exiting the vaporetto, walk up the pier and turn right onto Via Sandro Gallo. Follow the road and head over a bridge. On the left is the road Via Dandolo Enrico. You should be able to see a sign to the Hotel Rigel from this point, head up the road for 3 - 4 mins. It is number 13. It takes a maximum of 10 minutes from the vaporetto.
