5. How to make Velour Fabric

1.Singeing

Whether velour fabric needs to singe depends on the dress fabric weave and processing requirements. Under normal circumstances, velour fabric does not need singe, such as printed single-sided velour fabric which singeing would be meaningless. But if the pattern is printed on the un-napped side, it can singe. Gas singeing is better, but it needs a control of the flame size, speed. It is necessary to reach the singeing effect, but will not affect the quality of napping.

2. Desizing

If the paste on the velour fabric is not desized, fibers would adhere on the paste, affecting the napping effect. So velour fabric not only needs desizing, but also requires a good desizing effect. At the same time, it required to maintain some certain of wax on the fabric pre-brushed,



since the presence of wax is in favor of needle insertion and disengagement, increase napping effect.

3. Bleaching

Generally velour fabric adapts to sodium hypochlorite bleaching process. Because velour fabric neglects scouring, therefore, in addition to strengthening desizing process, bleaching process should also be strengthened to ensure the quality of semi-finished products. Velour fabric bleach requires necessary strength, but also to achieve the standard requirements of whiteness and fabric surface should contain no cotton seed hulls.

4. Mercerizing

After mercerized, yarn twist of velour fabric increases, fiber expansion, warp and weft density changes accordingly. Mercerization can reduce shrinkage, increase the color vividness as well as improving printing effect.



5. Napping

Bleaching and dyeing cashmere velour fabric general need to soak in softener separately before napping. Printed velour fabric can be napped after bleaching and drying.

6. Washing Cashmere

After napping, there is a layer of fluff feeling very soft. But there are some pulled off downy fluff attached to the velvet surface, which must be removed, otherwise it would cause drag color, drag pulp, intarsia tube and other flaws in printing.
