”CoLab Denmark represents a conceptual model

for the development of healthcare technologies

cross-sectoral within the Danish Healthcare

system.

A CoLab is a local testbed, anchored directly into

daily operations. The real experts – the operating

staff at the hospital and municipality – all pool

their knowledge, needs and facilities into a

common model for co creating with citizens and

companies. Thereby creating a unique

opportunity to test and develop tomorrows next-

gen healthcare technologies in accordance with

real end-user needs alongside with giving the

companies value feedback to be used in

perfecting a product.”

The municipalities and private companies require help with testing whilst documenting the effects hereof and a more focused orientation towards market needs.

It is difficult for SME’s and large companies to gain access to simulated environments that represents daily operations, and also standardized test- and product development courses. Complex guidelines for law and the lack of riskful capital is also an important obstacle to overcome.
