ARAA Direct Entry (DE)Application Requirements

1. PurposeThis document describes the requirements and process for Direct Entry (DE) of rope access personnel into the ARAA certification system.

1.1 Direct Entry is a method for a trained and qualified operator from another rope access training scheme to enter into the ARAA system at either Level 2 or Level 3, if they are able to demonstrate a combination of training and experience, and pass a theory and practical assessment.

1.2 Direct Entry shall be facilitated through an ARAA registered and approved Training Centre (Host), this is to ensure that the process and administration is initiated and appropriate administration controls are enforced. Under no circumstances will any candidate be reviewed by the Assessor without the application requirements as per VC03 Direct Candidate Checklist, along with the associated submission requirements.

2. Direct Entry (DE) Application Requirements

2.1 All DE’s must be facilitated through an ARAA training Centre. See website for current registered Training Centres (Host)

2.2 All DE submissions must be accompanied with the "ARAA Direct Entry Checklist and covering requirements as detailed within Section 3.1-3.4 & 4.2- 4.6.

2.3 Training Centers must submit the appropriate documentation to the ARAA Assessor, no less than Fifteen (15) working days in advance of the scheduled Assessment date. Submissions received less than Fifteen (15) working days from assessment date may not be accepted, the Assessor discretion is final.

2.4 A Direct Entry Fee is applicable to all applications (see your ARAA Training Centre for fees associated with the ARAA Direct Entry processing).

2.5 Minimum of four days (32h) training is recommended prior to the assessment. The training should be designed to prepare the candidate to demonstrate proficiency in all the skills and knowledge required for the level being assessed, and any below it. This training will need to be approved by the training center conducting the DE application, and documented as part of the procedure where a candidate has conducted less than the minimum hours of training.

2.6 Assessments shall be conducted by an authorised ARAA Assessor only. See website for current registered Assessors.

2.7 If any information or documentation is missing or incomplete the application will be declined
