1 Position the wand in its socketPush the bottom end of the wand into the socket near the brush bar.
2 Click the wand in placePush the wand’s handle towards your AVC.You’ll hear it click into place.

1 For Carpets turn on the brush barUse the brush bar to remove the deepest dust and dirt from carpets.
2 Vacuum right up to skirting boardsAVC’s unique edge to edge brush bar feature brushes and sucksdust and dirt away from your carpets...right up to the skirting boards.
3 Go straight from carpets to hard floorsAVC’s cleaning head drops down automatically.
4 Turn off the brush barOn hard floors your AVC getsthe best results without it.

2 Use the hose or the wandWhen using the tools they can be connectedto the wand or the hose, depending on how faryou need to reach and how much control you want.
1 Remove the wandAnd choose the tool you need.
3 For sofas and chairs fit the crevice toolThis tool allows you to get right into the corners and small spaces.
4 For work surfaces use the wand on it’s ownWhen cleaning surfaces usethe brush tool to avoid scratching.
5 For curtains use the stair toolAir vents in the tool reduce the suction.Twist the head of the tool for the best contact with your curtains.

4 Tap the side of the canisterDo this several times to loosen up any dust that mayhave become attached.
5 ‘Click’ the dust release buttonDo this three times, this will loosen any dust that has become stuck to the filter itself.
6 Use the wand For those hard to reach areas.
1 Keep an eye outThere is a line marked on the easyview canister, if dustreaches this line it should be emptied.
2 Remove the easyview canisterBy pushing the handle down...
6 Empty the canisterRelease the trap door over abin by pushing the dustrelease button downwards
7 Replace the canisterMake sure you have closed the trapdoor properly, then push the canister back into place until you hear it click.

What if the filter becomes blocked?Under certain circumstances e.g. vacuuming plaster dust, the filtermay temporarily become blocked resulting in a loss of suction.
2 Remove, hairs, fibres or threadsCarefully cut them off the brushes with scissors using the cutting strip in the brush bar to help you.
1 First, switch off your AVC and unplug it
2 Disconnect the hose from the canister
3 Remove the hose from the wand
4 Brush out the hoseAfter removing the hose use a feather dusterto brush it clean.
2 Rotate the hose collarLay your AVC down then rotate the collar [just above thebrush bar] in the direction of the arrow. The hose will release.
3 Remove the windowThen remove any blockage beneath it.
4 Brush out the hoseRemove the wand and thenuse a feather duster to brushout the hose. You have to replace thewindow before the hose’scollar when you put your AVCback together.

2 Remove the filterReach inside the easyview canister, turn thefilter cover anti-clockwise to release it andpull to remove. Then pull the filter free.
3 Reset the power buttonThere is an automatic systemwhich cuts off the power supply ifthe brush bar gets clogged up.After cleaning the brushes, wait acouple of minutes, then reset thebutton by pressing it in with thepoint of a pencil.
3 Tap the filter gently on it’s baseThis will dislodge thedust. Do not wash, brushor scour the filter as it hasa delicate membranewhich can be easilydamaged. Replace whenfinished as the canistercannot be reconnectedwithout the filter in place.

Do’s
Ensure the mains cable is kept well away from the revolving brushes of your VAX, when it is turned
on and running.
Keep the mains cable away from heat, oil, liquids, sharp edges and rough surfaces and avoid
damage in any other way.
Exercise extreme care when cleaning stair carpets. Ensure that your VAX is in a stable position at
the bottom of the stairs without over-stretching the hose or cable.
Follow the instructions in this easy guide when fitting accessories or tools.
Remove the plug from the wall socket before carrying out any maintenance specified in this guide.
Store your VAX in a dry place.
Have your VAX serviced by an authorised VAX Service Agent only using genuine VAX spare parts.
Take care when removing dust and debris from your VAX, to avoid injury.
Don'ts
Never allow children to tamper or play with your VAX.
Never drag your VAX by the mains cable.
Never tug at the mains cable to remove the plug from the wall socket.
Never remove the brush bar cover it should only be removed by a qualified service agent.
Don’t let anyone touch the rotating brush bar unless your VAX is disconnected from the mains.
Never use your VAX in the presence of flammable gases.
Avoid sucking up hot items, hazardous liquids or any other material which could damage your VAX.
Never leave your VAX running unattended.
Never use without the ‘easyview canister’.
If your VAX fails to operate, never attempt to repair it yourself as repairs carried out by an
unauthorised or inexperienced person may cause injury to you or damage to your VAX.
Never alter the specification or modify your VAX in any way.
This appliance is not intended for use by young or infirm persons without supervision.
To keep you and your AVC in good working order it is recommended you follow this advice.
A moulded plug, suitable for most UKhouseholds is supplied with your AVC.
The moulded plug has a 13 amp fuse approved to B.S 1362 A.S.T.A. If you need to replace thefuse, check that it is a 13 amp fuse. After changing a fuse in a moulded plug, the fuse cover must be put back.
THE VACUUM CLEANER MUST NOT BE EARTHED
The mains lead to your VAX has two inner wires.The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code.
BLUE - NEUTRAL
BROWN - LIVE
If the plug provided is unsuitable for your socket outlets, an alternative plug may be fitted.The cut-off plug must be disposed of immediately. The replacement must be a 13 amp rated plugwith a 13 amp fuse fitted.
