Namasthe Fellow Vasavians!

A good idea has come into implementationwith the cooperation of all of you. In response to the fantastic ideaof creating small cabin for breast feedingmothers in crowded places vasavians are actively

involving in arrangement of the same. When thefirst breast feeding centre ‘Ammaku Gouravam’opened in Chilakaluripet,I felt very happy andsatisfied. Thus, my ambition is to start hundredsof “Ammaku Gouravam centers” in five states starting from here.

“136 branches beingformed for one voluntaryservice organization onone single day is a record. With VCI achieving this, they got the Telugu Bookof Records award.”

Vasavi Clubs International has

bagged another unique award. VCI’s

grand success has been recorded in

Telugu Book of Records which records

the renowned organizations and elite

among the Telugus. 136 new clubs

joining VCI organization in the month

of January under the leadership of

the International President Vasavian

Tririveedhi Venugopal has been

recorded in the Telugu Book of

Records. A maximum of 136 new

branches being formed of a voluntary

service organization has been

documented as a record. Telugu book

of records head Dr Chintapatla

Venkatachari handed a confirmation

certificate, memento, medal and

badge to the International President

Vasavian Tiriveedhi Venugopal on February 27th on the

dais of Vanithaku vandanam. Speaking on the occasion,

when Dr Chintapatla Venkatachari said that this was a

record at national level and congratulated VCI,

hundreds of Vasavians cheered. Responding, the

International President Vasavian Tiriveedhi Venugopal

said that this success was possible only because of the

cooperation of each and every one in VCI. By Mother

Goddess Vasavi’s blessings, they would go forward for

more such successes in 2020.

In order to specially document the

accomplishments and successes of Telugu people,

Telugu Book of Records was formed in 2012 with its

central office in Hyderabad. Touring in the country

and abroad and studying the past and present of

institutions that document such records and discussing

it with the Telugu communities in Mauritius, Singapore,

Sri Lanka, and Malaysia, Telugu Book of Records was

unveiled in the 4th World Telugu Mahasabha, Since then,

six to seven hundreds accomplishments of

Telugu people and successes of

organizations have been recorded in Telugu

Book of records.

VCI record

Vasavian Tiriveedhi Venugopal who

took up the responsibilities as

International President suggested that

every regional chairman should start

a new club in his region and

completing this process by January

first week, they should send including

this record to VCI. To this regional

Chairmen responded wonderfully.

With the members’ details along with

format 1006, 136 new clubs came into

existence on January 1st. This is

record in the history of VCI. Equal to

the number of clubs usually started

in a year’s time, being completed in the matter of a

few days and all of them being inaugurated on the

same day stood as breaking news. This matter going

into the notice of Telugu Book of Records, and with

VCI providing documentary support, the record was

documented. To this effect, a certificate of

appreciation was presented to the International

President on the dais of Vanitha ku Vandanam.

Marching towards Guinness RecordNext, VCI is gearing up for mega blood donation

camps which contribute for the benefit of the society

by saving lives. Work has started to get into the pages

of Guinness Book of World Records by donating at least

60 thousand units of blood on one single day. From

various platforms, the International President Vasavian

Tiriveedhi Venugopal is preparing Vasavian cadres for

huge blood donation camps.

International President

Vasavian Tiriveedhi Venugopal

has set a record of holding

administrative functions for 30

days between 2nd January and

23rd February since he took

office. As clearly announced in

the speech of sworn in ceremony Vasavian

Tiriveedhi Venugopal is effectively reviewing

the administrative matters. Starting from

Uniformity in positions-protocols to

upgrading the website and focusing on

various other aspects he is designing strong

policies for effective administration.

In Vasavi movement, the

Governor is considered as the

First Vasavian of the district

and his wife as First lady

(Vanitha).Thus considering this,

Our International President

Vasavian Tiriveedhi Venugopal

has said that, unique lapel pins will be sent to

the life partners of 30 District Governors

recognizing them as the district first Vanitha.

On the eve of Maha

Kumbabishekam in famous

Penugonda shrine after 700 years

it has been decided to conduct

Homas ,Samprokshana and other

poojas for a period of 10 days

with 100 Ruthviks with an

estimated cost of around Rs.1

crore 30 lakhs and for which VCI

has asked the vasavians to

contribute some lumpsum for this great event

in the I.E.C meeting held. Thus, accordingly

International President has asked the vasavians

to send Rs.100 each to the VCI account.

Are you sendingCMRs?

Sending Club MonthlyReports has become easier.Through your club link, you

can upload your monthlyreport on the VCI Official

website.

Vasavi Clubs, which started with mere 11

members, has grown incredibly and has

become an organization with a

membership close to one lakh. With

thousands of clubs and with crores of

money as expenditure, service

programmes are being conducted. From

the highest position in Vasavi Clubs,

the International President, to a

club president, supervision of

events is happening at various

levels. In this scenario two aspects

come into light. How do the

events being conducted in

Vasavi Clubs, spread over five

states and abroad, come to the

view of the public? At the

same time, how do those

programmes get registered in

the organization? The answer

for both these questions is-

Reports.

Whatever programme is conducted under Vasavi

Club banner, VCI policy suggests that it has to

be formulated as a report and sent to VCI

Central Office. For example, if a Vasavi Club considers

the long term benefit of their region and construct

classrooms for the government school with an

expenditure of two-three lakhs, invite the International

President on the occasion of his goodwill visits and get

it inaugurated by him, what a good service programme

it is!

Without doubt this is a permanent project which

will be appreciated by all. However, if the complete

details of the programme, including photos, is sent as a

report to VCI, it will be safe in the records of VCI. If it is

forgotten due to carelessness, there is a danger of it

being forgotten. That is the reason reports hold that

importance.

CLUB MONTHLY REPORT (CMR)

The example cited above might be mentioned in the

monthly report of the concerned club. That is called

the Club Monthly Report. It is known as CMR to

Vasavians. The format assigned for this is Format

1001. Every club that is part of Vasavi movement

can fill the previous month’s events in the said

format and can upload onto VCI website

online or can send the hard copy to

VCI central office through post/courier.

VARIOUS NEEDS-A VARIETYOF FORMATS

According to the needs of VCI

network, the organization has

prepared almost 40 formats. Recently,

the International President Vasavian

Thiriveedhi Venugopal has reviewed

these and updated them in necessary places and

included in the latest issue of the rules and regulations

for 2020. They have been placed in the official website

too.

These formats are available for officers at various

levels in VCI hierarchy to send, from ordinary monthly

reports to contributions to various schemes and

programmes, details about the condition of the schemes

at the moment, conferences, trainings and official tours.

By sending them from time to time, clubs and officers

need to be active.

REGARD-AWARD

Vasavians may raise the doubt about the benefit of

sending these reports with discipline. Reports are the

benchmarks of the workmanship of Vasavians at regional

level. These are the criteria for promotions and awards.

For selection for awards at RECON, DISCON and ICON,

and for judging workmanship, the reports become the

main criteria. If conducting good programmes gives

satisfaction…the recognition earned by sending the

report acts as an incentive. So, shall we send reports

without fail from now on?

8SRI VASAVI NEWS MARCH 2020

Vasavi Clubs International (VCI) started

another community benefit programme in

the month of February. Vasavi Clubs have

come forward to protect the status of

mothers in public. Exactly a month and

half ago, the International President

Vasavian Tiriveedhi Venugopal who

promised to encourage new ideas as a

part of ‘VISION’ received a new

suggestion from

Visakhapatnam. The

suggestion was to make

arrangements of privacy for

mothers to feed their

babies in places where

there are crowds of people.

Taking this suggestion, VCI

has decided to encourage

‘Mother feeding Centres’ under the name

of ‘Amma ku Gouravam’ (Regard for

Mother).

As per VCI’s decision to arrange ‘mother feeding

centres’ extensively by the name ‘Amma

Gouravam’ for mothers to feed their babies,

at bus stands, railway stations and other public places

where people crowd, on February 9th, in Chilakaluripet

in Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh, the first centre

was started. At the same time, there is news that

there are extensive arrangements being done to

establish ‘Amma ku Gouravam’ centres in 30 Vasavi

districts in the five states where Vasavi Clubs have

extended.

Seed for new idea sown in Visakha

Exactly two months ago in RCTS training

programme, as a part of ‘VISION’, While Vasavian

Tiriveedhi Venugopal was talking to Vasavians in order

to share new ideas, Vanitha Vasavian Maddula Subha

(V201A-RC) brought this idea to his notice. Observing

the social service in the idea, the International

President discussed this with senior leaders. The

possibility of implementation of the

idea and issues to be faced at

regional level were studied. Keeping

in view the benefit to people,

especially to women by arranging

these centres, a favourable decision

was made. Since then, they started

explaining this from every platform.

Since the main motive behind this

programme is protecting the

reputation of our sisters, the name ‘Amma ku

Gouravam’ was finalised.

According to maternity benefits Act-

2017(Amendment), the central government’s policy

is to encourage extensive establishment of ‘Mother

Feeding Centres’ in order for mothers to feed their

babies in public places. Following this, the voluntary

organizations taking steps in this direction need to

be encouraged. Requesting these to be started in all

railway stations, the central women and child welfare

minister even wrote a letter in 2019 to the railway

minister. On the whole, by this system, the

government and the concerned departments will

encourage the voluntary organizations which come

forward with proposals to start ‘Mother Feeding

Centres’ in crowded places like bus stands and railway

stations. In this scenario, the initiative of Vasavi

Clubs International to start ‘Ammaku Gouravam’

Steps were quickly taken for

‘Mother feeding cabins’,

which bring fame and

reputation to Vasavi Clubs

International and regards to

mothers, to be executed. The

idea came into execution

within the matter of a month.

SOON 200 ‘AMMA KU GOURAVAM’ CABINSFirst Cabin INAUGURATED in Chilakaluripet

For the benefit of mothers who have months’ old

babies, in the upcoming three months, along with the

two Telugu states, in Tamilnadu and Karnataka states

too, 200 Mother Feeding Cabins are going to be started,

said Vasavi Clubs International (VCI) President Vasavian

Thiriveedhi Venugopal. After inaugurating the first

centre of ‘Amma ku Gouravam’ on February 9th in

Chilakaluripet APSRTC Bus stand, he spoke to media.

In order to provide privacy for mothers with infants,

in bus stands, railway stations and such public places

‘Mother feeding centres’ are necessary. The

International President informed that they were

encouraging Vasavi Clubs to open these wherever

there is possibility. He appreciated Vasavi Club Diamonds

Chilakaluripet Vasavians who opened the first centre

in this direction.

Cosiness in a crowded bus stand

CHilakaluripet is one of the bus complexes which

is crowded being on the national highway between

Vijayawada and Chennai. Every day about 15 thousand

travellers pass through this bus stand which is always

crowded with passengers. Responding to the call of

VCI International President Thiriveedhi Venugopal,

Vasavi Club Diamonds Chilakaluripet Vasavians came to

the decision to open ‘Ammaku Gouravam’ cabin in their

bus stand. Consulting the district governor Vasavian

Kollapudi Kalyani, they got to execution. As soon as

the depot manager’s permission was secured, Sri

Kolisetty Siva Subramanyam came forward to take up

the expenditure for the construction of the cabin.

With the district vice-governor Vasavian Joolakanti

Srinivasa Rao, Region chairman Pasumarthy Venkata

Satyanarayana, club president Vasavian Pothuganti

Subba Rao convening, the cabin construction was

completed and then inaugurated on February 9th by

the International President. By getting into VCI records

as the first centre for Amma ku Gouravam, the Vasavians

of V204A are incredibly happy. In the Ammaku gouravam

inauguration the past district governor Vasavian

Bommisetty Lakshmi Kumari, cabinet secretary Kalepalli

Gowri Sankar, other Vasavians and RTC Depot officials

also participated.

cabins is being appreciated. An example for this is

APSRTC officials giving permission within two days

to the ‘Ammaku Gouravam’ centre started by Vasavi

Club in Chilakaluripet bus stand. When Vasavi Clubs

Diamonds Chilakaluripet Vasavians consulted the

Chilakaluripet depot manager Mrs. Sujatha proposing

that they would start mother feeding cabin, they could

get the approval of DM and higher officials within

two days. With the depot manager being a woman,

she understanding the sensitive issue and explaining

it to the higher authorities also turned out to be a

favourable aspect here.

Selection of Place:Selecting the right place for thearrangement of Chalivendram is crucial.

They should be arranged, especially at peoplecongregation points. Take traffic permissions ifnecessary.

Cost estimation:There should be a basic understanding of,How much water will be consumed perday in the selected area? How many litersof water should be made available? For How manydays the Chalivendram should be organised? Andarrangement of Volunteers etc…Thus keeping all the above factors in mind fororganising the water camp, cost should be estimated.

Same Model:How wonderful it would be if all theChalivendrams arranged by Vasavi Clubslook alike? It would build the respect

&reputation of our organization. And this is why VCI

Is everything ready forChalivendrams?

has designed a banner to all the vasavi clubs in thesame pattern. Thus follow the same in arrangementof Chalivendram.

Opening ceremony! If you’re doing a good job let ten peopleknow. That is why, invite a senior Vasavianfor the opening ceremony of

“Chalivendram” and try for the coverage in medialike TV Channels and News Paper.

Supervision- Security:The Chalivendramsstarted by vasaviclubs should notend like three days festival. They should be conducted forat least 60 days till the severity

of summer comes down and to accomplish this propermaintenance, monitoring and supervision of“chalivendrams” is must &required. Thus propersupervision should be maintained to prevent brats.

As per the information, it has been decided to start preparationsto arrange summer relief camps-”Chalivendrams” in advance i.e.on 16th of March on the eve of Amarajeevi Potti Sree Ramulu Death

Anniversary and congratulations to those Vasavians which havealready made arrangements. Here are some suggestions to those

vasavi clubs which are still making the arrangements:

WHY THE BUSINESS CARD?90 percent of Vasavians are those who

are involved in some business. Managing their

businesses on the one hand, they are coming

and spending under the umbrella of Vasavi Clubs.

All of them are not those who earn crores in

their businesses. In fact, since businesses

involve ups and downs, Vasavians are no

exception to this. they too desire to develop

their businesses.

Okay…then how is a business card useful for this?

The main purpose of this business card is to

plus to the business of Vasavians. One businessman

is the customer for another business. At present

Vasavians are giving businesses to others as

consumers. The main principle of this business

card is that Vasavians give business to our people

instead. Through this, Vasavians give and take

among themselves. At the same time we can obtain

some discount too. Isn’t it beneficial both ways?

The idea is good…but how is it possible?

Is it possible to connect the businesses of 87thousand Vasavians spread over five states? I ambuilding a house…how can I come to know abouta Vasavian who sells construction materials nearme? It’s my daughter’s wedding…how can I meet aVasavian who is in jewellery business? Such doubtsare natural. It is truly a problem. But ourInternational President is work in the direction ofproviding solutions for these with the help oftechnology.

What is this technology…how is it useful to us?

An app will be made with all businessmen inVasavians along with their businesses and dealings. Inthis one Vasavian can search for fellow Vasavians whosell the things he needs. Later on he can meet themin person. Or make an online payment and get thingdelivered through transport. It is for such paymentsthat the International President has held talksrecently with NFC (Near Field Communication)technical experts team.

Once technical hurdles are overcome, and VCI software updation is done, every member

will be given a business cum ID card. Through this he can conduct business and consumer

transactions from wherever he goes.

Since his maiden speech on the dais of ICON-2019, the International PresidentTiriveedhi Venugopal has often beenmentioning VCI Business Card. Steps

are being taken in thisdirection with clarity inthought. Though he isextremely busy with the tasks of the

organization, he has been holding talks withvarious cadres about this new prospect which is beneficial toVasavians. Tiriveedhi Venugopal who held talks with eminentbusinessmen in Vijayawada on 26th January, held discussions inHyderabad with NFC (Wireless Payments System) technical experts.‘Advances are being made in the direction of issuing every Vasavianan identity cum business card…even if it takes a little time, it will beexecuted firmly’, says the International President. This year Ugadiwill be celebrated on

25th March

Ugadi (Ugadi, Samvatsa-

radi, Yugadi) is the New Year’s Day

for the Hindus of Andhra Pradesh,

Telangana and Karnataka states in India

.The word “Ugadi” is a combination

of two words— “Yuga” (age) and “Adi”

(beginning). An auspicious occasion,

the day is celebrated with much pomp and gusto.

People from every sphere of the society enjoy the

day by wearing new clothes and gorging on delicious

delicacies. Prayers are offered in temples to welcome

the new year while people clean their homes and

decorate them with Rangolis—a traditional way to

decorate floors by creating various patterns with

coloured rice or flower petals.

History of Ugadi

As per Hindu mythology, it was on this day that

Lord Brahma created the universe. He then went on

to create days, weeks, months, and years. So, Ugadi

is believed to be the first day of the creation of the

universe.

Importance of Ugadi

The term Ugadi derived from the word Yugadi.

Primarily, the term Yugadi is the combination of two

great words: Yuga, which means age or period; and

Adi, which means the beginning of something.

Therefore, Ugadi literally means the origination of

New Year. The festival carries a greater amount of

significance for people who celebrate this festival

to recognize the work of Lord Brahma. The Lord is

entrusted to be the creator of ages and is adulated

on the day of the festival.

How is Ugadi celebrated?

The celebration actually begins one week before

the day of Ugadi. People start cleaning and decorating

their respective homes. Most house entrances are

decorated with colourful Rangoli patterns because

it’s believed that the New Year will be as bright and

colourful like the various colours of Rangoli.

People usually wake up before sunrise, take a

customary oil-bath, and wear new clothes. Mango

leaves are placed at the entrances of temples,

homes, and shops. Ugadi also happens to be a

28SRI VASAVI NEWS MARCH 2020

March in India is examinationtime. Even though all schoolsconduct their internal annualexams this time, it is the 10thand the 12th board exams thatare the most crucial.

The class 10th board exams are the first all India

exams that most kids across India take. The pressure

and stress to perform and do well, hovers on kids

year after year. In fact, sometimes the stress is so

high that it not only impacts them mentally but

physically too.

Health experts have, from time to time, lashed

out at the education system as also the parents and

the larger periphery for attaching such significance

on exam performance.

So, with March just around the corner, what is it

that parents and friends can do that helps children

take exams with the right mindset, strength and

confidence, without worrying about the outcome.

What is exam stress?Stress is a negative reaction when excessive

pressure/demands are made on a person or

situation.

Why is stress created duringexams? Some of the reasons for stress can be the fear of

failure, unrealistic expectations set by parents and

teachers, a sense of unpreparedness, past

feedback, anxiety to perform & competition with

other children.

Is stress unrealistic?Absolutely. Even though it cannot be eliminated

completely, the level of stress can be controlled if

the child and parents want to. The entire

framework around the child, needs to support

them. Exams are one of the yardsticks of success,

but not the only one. This mindset has to be drilled

inside. A positive urge to perform should be higher

than the negative pressure to perform.

How can exam stress be managed?Set realistic expectations – it is important for the

child and parents to sit down and have a realistic

conversation. Past performance in school exams

can give a fair amount of idea of what to expect

from the child. Set the expectations accordingly.

Don’t expect overnight miracles to happen. A

frank talk will ease off the burden.

Sound sleep and healthy eating –Often a common phenomenon during exams is

that children give up healthy eating habits and

sleep minimal in order to focus on studies. A very

wrong trend indeed. Cutting down on food intake

and not letting the body get adequate sleep will

only break it down further. Parents should

encourage kids to eat and sleep, so that they are

healthier to cope with the exam pressure.

29SRI VASAVI NEWS MARCH 2020

Study breaks are important –Encourage your child to take adequate study

breaks. Ask them to go for a walk, meet friends,

watch TV or read a story book or just do nothing –

all this helps the mind stay stimulated positively.

Seek timely help –There are many times that children need help but

at the last minute, are shy of asking. Encourage

them to seek help even till the last minute. This

gives them the confidence of knowledge.

Talk, talk and talk –Be involved with your child’s preparation. Know

what they are studying and how. Their level of

preparedness shouldn’t come as a last-minute

surprise. The more you talk and tell them your

experiences, will their confidence and moral go

up.

Make a strategy for the wayforward, together –Let your child know that you are with them at

each and every step. Discuss their plan, the way

they have allocated time to study each subject

etc.

Highlight the areas that are strengths for them

and let them focus more on them. Demarcate time

for the weak areas so that they can be

strengthened. Knowledge of areas of improvement

is critical – it helps the mind react positively to

them. Parents need to ensure this happens in

advance and with due diligence. 6 out of 10

students don’t pay attention to their strategy and

lose out on marks.

How to attempt a paper, smartly –Help the children understand how to answer an

examination paper. The school must be doing their

part, but for parent to get involved in this process

is critical too. Suggest them to start with

questions/sections that they are most comfortable

with. Also, picking on sections with more marks/

weightage can help gain and even if there is less

time left, the gap in marks can be minimalised.

Post exam openness –Most times it is the post exam stress that also

works strongly on the psyche of kids. Let them

know that it’s ok to make mistakes. And that come

what may, you are there with them.

Criticising them will not help. Kids are most

vulnerable at such times and they need your

backing.

Look out for warning signals –As a parent and guardian, it is critical to keep

your eyes and ears open. Address any issue that

you feel is away from normal. Change in appetite,

sleep upsets, fever, health issues etc have a

reason.

Future does NOT depend uponexam marks only –A parent needs to be aware of the language,

sentences and speech they use. Sometimes,

remarks like, ‘Your future depends on this’, ‘what

will you do in life if you get less marks’ and ‘look

at your friend, is so serious about studies’, can

be disastrous. This sets the wrong expectations

for kids.

Be mindful of this. Examinations are justanother stepping stone in the larger picture oflife. Let it remain at that.

Though, every studenthas different learning capabilitiesso we can’t decide when eachstudent should start preparingfor the exams. Still, there is acommon approach to the exampreparation which needs to befollowed.

Good timetable will make the preparationseasy

Sufficient time should be devoted to selfstudy

Adopt best study habits to excel in exams Practicing previous years’ question papers

prepares you better for the upcomingchallenge

Use flow charts and diagrams Take regular breaks to enjoy yourself Snack on brain food Drink plenty of water Throw away the exam fear and just relax Plan your exam day
