Cafe Reverie is a good choice when you want a quick casual breakfast or when the wait at Zazie is too long (which is always!). You find your own seating and don’t have a waiter, which makes for a relaxed environment. There’s a nice big back patio area, perfect on a sunny day. One of the best things on the breakfast menu is the Huevos Rancheros. The cafe is cash-only, so be prepared!

Yoga Tree has knowledgeable and motivating instructors and rejuvenating and rewarding classes at a great price. Their intro package of 3 classes is only $20, and they offer 5-10 classes per day starting as early as 7:30am and as late as 8pm! Yoga Tree also offers workshops and massage.

This delightful French bistro was named after a film from the 1960s, “Zazie dans le Metro.” The staff is welcoming and friendly, so it feels like a house party. The menu is constantly changing. Zazie is famous for their brunches, but I love their dinners, sitting outside on the garden patio, having a romantic meal under the stars.

Cole Valley Hardware is one of the those great neighborhood stores to get almost a bit of everything and anything. Fortunately they’ve branched out to a few other neighborhoods. A store like this is what helped build America (fife and drum roll please) and Cole Valley.

The Ice Cream Bar: Ever wonder why soda fountains are such an iconic American memory? Come here to find out. Great vintage style and old school malts, ice cream and sodas with all sorts of tonics, tinctures and potions. Staff wear outfits straight out of the 50s. Warning: Addictive.
