Enabling  Agents  of  Change  with  Value  Chain  Execution:    Customer  Case  Studies

The  Valassis  case  study  will  describe  the  operational  and  business  process  changes  that  were  enabled  as  part  of  implementing  Oracle  Transportation  Management  (OTM).  They  include  deeper  utilization  of  shipment  optimization  and  organizational  changes.  Increased  demand  from  customers  for  better  load  utilization,  greater  schedule  flexibility  and  smaller,  more  frequent  deliveries  to  distributions  prompted  APL  Logistics  to  develop  an  industry-‐leading  collaborative  shipping  solution,  ShipMax  Alliance.  This  solution  is  managed  through  OTM’s  powerful  optimization  engine  to  maximize  shipments  based  on  cost,  service  level  and  asset  utilization  to  enable  collaborative  shipping  among  multiple  shippers.
