Morven is a city in Brooks County, Georgia, United States. It is part of the Valdosta, Georgia Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city was named
after a mountain in Scotland. The population was 565 at the 2010 census.
Morven hosts an annual Peach Festival and has peach stands with homemade ice cream when in season. The Peach Festival held in May has arts and crafts, entertainment, peach ice cream, peach turnovers and lots of
other food. They have clogging and other entertainment throughout the day

The first inhabitants of the area now known as Albany were the Creek Indians who called their home along the riverbank “Thronateeska,” meaning “the place where flint is picked up.”
Fittingly, the river that flows through Albany is called the Flint. Nelson Tift founded the city in 1836, hoping that the settlement would prosper as a trade center like Albany, New York.

the National Register of Historic Places.The Creek Indians were the first to settle the area that is now Parrott. Their village was called Chenube. The original post office changed its name from
Chenube to Parrott in 1889 when the town became incorporated. Parrott was named in honor of Mr. John Lawson Parrott who donated the
land for the business district, the churches and the school. The original stores were wooden structures. In the late 1800 s and early 1900 s, they were ′ ′
replaced by the brick buildings standing today.

Georgia’s “Little Grand Canyon” is a testament to the power of man’s influence on the land. Massive gullies as deep as 150 feet were caused simply by poor farming practices during the 1800s, yet today they make some of
the prettiest photographs within the state. The rare Plumleaf Azalea grows only in this region and blooms during July and August when most azaleas have lost their color. The canyon soil’s pink, orange, red and purple
hues make a beautiful natural painting at this quiet park.
Visitors can enjoy views of the canyons from the rim trail, taking care to stay behind fences and off the fragile canyon edge. Hikers who explore the deepest canyons will usually find a thin layer of water along the trail,
indication of the water table below. Guests who hike to canyons 4 and 5 may want to join the Canyon Climbers Club. Backpackers can stay overnight along the backcountry trail which highlights portions of the canyon and
winds through mixed forest.
