An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Senior Charge Nurse within the Outpatient Department.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate commitment to person centred care and supporting effective team working. The post holder will have 24 hour responsibility for the Department, providing clinical leadership, managing the nursing team and having a pivotal role in driving service improvement. You will be expected to ensure safe and effective care that enhances the patient experience and contributes to the delivery of organisational objectives. The post holder must have experience as a Charge Nurse within an acute setting and be able to demonstrate expert clinical and professional practice through experience and theoretical knowledge.

You must be on the General Nursing and Specialist Community Public Health Nurse parts of the NMC Register, have a relevant first level degree/post-registration qualification and be able to demonstrate evidence of further professional development. You must be willing to undergo further training to advance your skills and knowledge.

You must have substantial post-registration experience including relevant experience in health protection. Community experience, and practical experience in the field of Public Health Nursing/Infection Control is desirable and experience in communicable disease and TB control would be advantageous.

An exciting and challenging secondment opportunity has arisen at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy for an enthusiastic senior registered nurse who is keen to enhance and develop their management and clinical skills in a Senior Charge Nurse position.

The candidate should have a commitment to acute medicine of the elderly, patient centred care and supporting effective team working. The post holder will have 24 hour responsibility for the ward, providing clinical leadership, managing and developing the nursing team and having a pivotal role in driving forward models of care. The post holder will be expected to ensure safe and effective care that enhances the patient experience and contributes to the delivery of the organisation's objectives. The post holder must have a minimum post registration experience at charge nurse level within an acute clinical setting and be able demonstrate expert clinical and professional practice development through experience and theoretical knowledge, with management and leadership experience. They must understand the complexities of caring for frail individuals with acute and chronic episodes of delirium whilst planning care and treatment for acute medical conditions.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to join our team within the Day Intervention Unit Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy.The Day Intervention Unit covers Endoscopy, Day Surgery, Surgical Elective Admission Lounge and Interventional Radiology.

This post will involve providing leadership, support and coordination of the day surgery area and endoscopy recovery area of DIU.

Supporting the Senior Charge Nurse to manage the nursing team and support service development is an integral part of this leadership role. Participation in audit and quality improvement is essential therefore previous experience of this is desirable.

Good decision making skills in clinical practice and the ability to work without supervision are essential as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.You must possess evidence of effective team working and excellent interpersonalskills, and be committed to patient focused care.

You should be educated to degree level/working towards a degree or have equivalent experience and education. Days/hours of work will predominantly be Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:00; however there will be a requirement to offer flexibility and to ultimately meet the needs of the service.

Vacancies have arisen within Ward 15 for 1st level trained nurses.

Ward 15 is a busy 26 bedded acute medicine of the elderly ward with sick and frail elderly patients. The ward is currently undergoing a period of transformation and we would welcome motivated caring staff in to the team.

You will be joining a well motivated and dynamic multi-disciplinary team who strive to deliver the highest level of care possible. Applicants must have acute hospital experience.

As part of the Forensic Mental Health Team in Fife, you will be expected to provide a highly specialist clinical forensic service to adults who present with a history of offending behaviour and mental disorder. You would provide risk assessments and recommendations regarding risk management planning; specialist clinical assessment; psychological formulation based upon clinical and risk assessment to inform treatment planning; delivery of specialist psychological interventions appropriate to patient needs; joint working and specialist consultation to colleagues and other services (e.g. criminal justice social work, health, prison); and specialist opinions to Scottish Government, courts and mental health tribunals. This post is attached to the new low secure unit based at Stratheden Hospital, Cupar, though the post-holder will also liaise with colleagues in the community forensic team and will provide input as required to the Intensive Psychiatric Care Unit at Stratheden Hospital.

You will have a Masters degree in Pharmacy or equivalent and be on the practising register of the General Pharmaceutical Council. It is essential that you have a relevant post-graduate qualification in clinical pharmacy/ prescribing sciences or be willing to undertake this within an agreed timescale. You will be an independent prescriber (or be willing to undertake this within an agreed timescale). It is desirable that you have completed the Stage 2 vocational training scheme or can demonstrate equivalent experience.

You will be working mainly in either East (Glenrothes/ North East Fife areas) or West Fife (areas west of Kirkcaldy) with ability to travel across Fife, if required.

We are seeking experienced GP’s with an interest in medical education to work with ScotGEM. ScotGEM is an innovative postgraduate entry medical programme, employing a case based approach to learning. It is a 4-year course that has been commissioned by the Scottish Government with a specific remit to widen access to medicine and promote generalist careers in under-served, especially rural areas. The universities of St. Andrews and Dundee are leading this development in conjunction with the University of Highlands and Islands, NHS Highland, NHS Dumfries & Galloway, NHS Tayside and NHS Fife - 55 fully funded medical student places are to commence in September 2018.

As a Generalist Clinical Mentor you will undertake up to 4 GP clinical sessions in the Host GP Practice and 4 academic sessions as a clinical tutor with around 6 students each week, both in your host GP practice and at St. Andrews Medical School. You will be a self-motivated, practicing GP, working in or willing to work in an approved ScotGEM Host GP Practice in Fife. You will provide input within the NHS Fife Learning Disability Service. The post is based at Lynebank Hospital in Dunfermline and involves responsibility for general and forensic Learning Disability inpatient and Community Services.

Input to inpatient services will include provision to a state of the art Regional Low Secure Forensic Learning Disability Unit (Daleview) and a semi-secure forensic Learning Disability Unit (Levendale). There are also inpatient services in the form of a general Learning Disability Assessment and Treatment Unit (Mayfield) and small specialist forensic and challenging behaviour unit (Tayview). Specialist Learning Disability Services across the South East of Scotland are part of a Managed Care Network covering Lothian, Fife, Forth Valley and Borders Health Board areas under the auspices of the South East and Tayside Planning Forum. Learning Disability Services in all areas are community based with support from a small number of inpatient assessment and treatment beds.

You should have full registration with the General Medical Council and have completed at least four years’ full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty or shall have equivalent experience.
