Obtain a National Senior Certificate, certified by Umalusi. 2. Obtain at least a “4" (50-59%) in four designated subjects. 3. Obtain a “4" (50-59%) in the language of instruction (Afrikaans or English) at either the Home Language (HL) and First Additional Language (FAL) level. 4. Comply with the required Academic Performance Scale (APS) for the particular degree. Although NSC-results will be expressed on a seven-point scale, percentages will be provided by Umalusi to universities for purposes of selection, bursary grants, etc and therefore the NWU will make use of an eight-point scale. 5. Satisfy the programme and degree specific requirements for the particular degree. 6. Preliminary admission is based on the results obtained in the final Grade 11 examinations. The results obtained in the final Grade 12 examinations will be the determining factor regarding admission. Owing to the capacity limitations and the high demand from students for admission to particular fields of study, students will be selected on the basis of their scholastic achievements for admission to these fields.
