should I walk by again?
4.Do you have a band aid? Cause I hurt my
knee when I fell for you.

Cause your my sugar.
6.I lost my number, Can I have yours?
7.Are you from Tennessee? Cause you’re
the only ten I see.

Mrs. Thill said the 3 point shootout was a great turnout. There were a lot of participants an that’s what
they wanted. Both boys and girls could do it. You get 15 basketballs, 3 racks of 5 each. You shoot 5
balls from the right, 5 from the top of the key, and 5 balls from the left. If there is a tie breaker you
get 10 shots from the base to find the winner. The girl participants include: M. Schultz, A. Woodruff,
E. Brunner, A. Scheider, M. Luke, C. DeVries, and H. Strohecker. The boy participants include: I.
Bruce, P. Magee, A. Scheider, G. Schwartz, G. Rucker, and B. Brown. The people who made it to the
championship shootout were for the girls: Ella Brunner and
Carmen DeVries. The boys who made it were Gaige Schwartz
and Parker Magee. Ella and Carmen had a tie breaker. Ella
won with a total of 5. Gaige made 8 shots and Parker made 9.
The winners of the three point shootout are Ella Brunner and
Parker Magee.

Student Leadership Essay By Shannon Noller
I, Shannon Noller, would like to be on the Student Leadership Committee.
The first reason I would like to be in Student Leadership is because I love to help the commu-
nity. One of my past experiences with helping the community includes being in Girl Scouts.
In Girl Scouts I helped pick up trash from local parks and volunteered at the Nursing Home.
Another reason I would like to be in Student Leadership is because I love to help the school.
One way that I would help make the school a more positive environment is by maybe taking
out some of the non-healthy foods and replacing them with fruits and vegetables. For exam-
ple, two times every week, we would replace our normal ala carte with fruits and vegetables.
Another way I would help make the school a more positive environment is by sometimes
having the Student Leadership Committee volunteer to help the teachers.
Some of my past accomplishments include, winning the Character Counts Award three years
in a row, I was chosen to be in the Wee Deliver program in elementary school for three years,
and was in the District Spelling Bee in 4th and 5th grade.
I have a very positive behavior towards teachers and my peers. I also have very good grades
and manage to maintain them. I work well and get along with everybody around me. I help
my mom who is a kindergarten teacher with her work after school. I also help her with my
little brother at home. He has special needs and requires a lot of extra help and support.
Thank you for considering me for the Student Leadership Committee.

To whom it may concern:
I would like to take part in Student Leadership to help my classmates and
people every day. I participated in Student Leadership last year and enjoyed the
many activities. I had a great time raising money through fundraisers, working
on Candy Grams, teaching younger kids about bullying, working concessions,
and helping first- graders each week. Also, I helped three other student leaders
write a bullying book.
Participating in many activities has always been important to me. In pre-
vious years, I have represented my grade in the spelling bee. I also play softball
and volleyball. Right now I am the manager of the seventh and eighth grade vol-
leyball team. I go to the games and keep track of statistics for the players. Both
teams have been great to work with.
My grades average mostly A’s with a few B’s. This year my goal is to
work hard and receive all A’s. Another goal is to stop bullying! I cannot stand
how bullies treat people. So I want to end it! Another goal I have is to reduce the
number of people that cheat on homework and tests. It’s wrong and students
shouldn’t help people that cheat.
In Elementary School I helped preschoolers get to their class safely. I did
Wee Deliver for two years, cleaned tables in the lunchroom, and sorted lunch
cards. I was nominated for Character Counts twice. Over the summer, I did a lot
of babysitting for my cousins and occasionally my neighbors.
Last year I was invited to be part of the Young Leaders Seminar in Wash-
ington D.C. I felt honored to be invited. Unfortunately I could not go. I would
have liked to represent our school. I hope to be in Student Leadership again this
year so I can help change the community and our school in positive ways.
Thank you for considering me.

Hi, my name is Della Crain; and I would like to be a Student Leader. I’m 13 years old, I’m responsible, car-
ing, and love to help others, and this is why I want to be on student leadership.
As long as I can remember I have always been busy. It all started when I was 3, and I took dance and
tumbling classes till I was 11 years old, plus every year I would take basketball, volleyball, and dance camps.
During 3rd grade I started playing softball and still play today during the summer. During 5th grade I was able to
join the basketball and volleyball teams, and that helps me learn to work with others and take instructions from
my coaches. I still participate in basketball, volleyball and track for school; and in my spare time I played club
volleyball.
I just don’t play sports; I attend weekly Awana meetings, and participate in a youth group at a local
church. I was chosen to help the little kids (preschool, Jr, k, and kindergarten) with their verses, and play
games with them. At youth group, we have weekly meetings, and once a month service night which helps the
church or an elderly person needs.
I am a 5 year member of the Lena Live Wires 4-H club; I participate in lots of community service
events each year. I donated food to the food pantry, I help organized adopt a family at Christmas time, (I buy
gifts and food for an entire family), donate food and make homemade bookmarks for the Lena Living center, I
assisted with the Bower fundraiser, and help raise money for the 4-H foundation. For the past three years, I have
been selected to go down to the State fair to exhibit a winning 4-H project. I also have chaired committees, and
held offices in the past three years.
The past two years I have been on Student Leadership, and I love to help others and providing services
to help others in need. I help make posters, I participated in the anti-bullying campaign for the elementary kids,
sold candy grams, worked concessions stands for volleyball, boys’ basketball and dances, donated for the cloth-
ing and food drive, help make PowerPoint presentations, helped with holiday shop in elementary school, work at
the Rescue Mission, help with all fundraisers, and volunteering 3 to 4 times a week to help Mrs. Raab’s and
Mrs. Blakely’s class. I love to read or play with the younger students, especially the children with special needs.
I have lots of ideas for the school. Currently Jr High students do not have a shelter area to get away
from the sun during lunch. I suggest we could plant some trees or help build a shelter house with some picnic
tables to keep kids cool from the sun. We could raise the money and get some help from the Ag students. And
maybe we could eat outside if it’s nice, because it’s nice to get outside more instead of being cooped up in a
building. Maybe we could work with the cooks, and come up different menu items for lunch, and give them ide-
as of food we like and that is healthy. We can do a cell phone drive by recycling phones which are good for the
environment, and also provides money for domestic violence programs. I can help with these ideas, or any
ideas of my peers to help others. I have dedication, loyalty, and good grades, and I have participated in many
activities for the community. As you can see, I have the qualities it takes to be a student leader, again.
