Siemon’s V-Lock Cabinet Security Solution is a complete hardware and software system that delivers superior cabinet-level access control for mission critical data centers and other telecommunications spaces, enabling improved security, administration and compliance with privacy regulations. Available in a centralized Bus and Node System that provides cabinet-level or end-of-row authentication, or in a decentralized Sentry System for free-standing cabinets, V-Lock offers a wide range of secure handles, including PIN/RFID card access, biometrics and dual factor authentication.
Full Administration – Software enables easy setup of user and group access for specific cabinets and time periods, as well as monitoring and logging of events.
Pre-assembled – V-Lock can be pre-assembled onto Siemon Cabinets as part of a V-Built™ customized preconfigured cabinet, along with preloaded connectivity, PDUs and accessories.
Space Saving – With highly secure cabinet-level access, colocation data centers can save space by eliminating the need to cage off cabinets.
Flexible – Wide range of handles support various levels of authentication, separate front and rear security and the ability to work with third-party access control platforms (no node, Sentry or additional software needed).
Compatible – V-Lock works with all Siemon standalone cabinets and can be retrofitted to any single-hinge door with a 25mm x 150mm opening. Not recommended for use with VersaPOD cabinets due to shared zero-U space and dual hinging doors.
Reduced Risk – Eliminates the use of universal cabinet keys that can open any cabinet while restricting access to mission critical equipment based on specific cabinets, roles and time periods.
Easy Set-Up – Minimal hardware required, handles and nodes connected and powered via the bus controller using standard twisted-pair Ethernet cable and fast enrollment of biometric and card information.

Handle Functionality
The Electronic Access Handle provides an added layer of security to data center cabinets.
Electronic Access Handle*
The Low Frequency Card Access Handle can be unlocked using a compatible low frequency access card.
Low Frequency Card Access Handle*
The High Frequency Card Access Handle allows for authentication via a high frequency compatible access card. Dual frequency accepts both low and high frequency compatible access cards.
High Frequency and Dual Frequency Card Access Handle*
The Biometric Access Handle allows for access via fingerprint biometrics.

The Biometric and High Frequency Card Access Handle allows for access via either fingerprint, high frequency card, or both for dual factor authentication.
Biometric and High Frequency Card Access* The Pin and Card Access
Handle is available in three models: pin only, pin and high frequency card access and pin and dual frequency card access. Pin and Card option offers dual factor authentication.

The Enline unit’s various configurations allow for low frequency card access, high frequency card access or dual frequency card access, as well as the standard pin pad and biometric authentication. The Enline unit is ideal for end-of-row access control, allowing for cabinet level entry of any compatible V-Lock cabinet handle connected to the system.
Enline Unit
Certain V-Lock cabinet security handles are compatible with access cards. These vary between low frequency (125 KHz) prox cards and high frequency (13.56 MHz) cards.Some examples of compatible high frequency cards are as follows:

The firmware loaded onto the V-Lock products can be dynamically updated and compatibility can be extended. If an access card being utilized is not listed above, contact Siemon Technical Services for extended compatibility information.
Card Compatibility
Handles can be locked/unlocked via Enline units, a primary handle with built-in authentication linked to secondary handles or remotely through the V-Lock software package.

Node
The Bus and Node V-Lock System supports up to 32 cabinets using a controller and cabinet nodes that are daisy-chained together. The Bus controller powers the nodes and is connected to the LAN – it is the only device in the system to have an IP address. The Bus and Node V-Lock System is ideal for environments with multiple cabinets in rows, typical of a data center. Authentication can occur at the cabinet level via individual handles or at the end of a row of cabinets via the Enline unit.

PoE SwitchSentry
The Sentry V-Lock System is designed for situations where cabinets are standalone or not located in close proximately to each other. Suitable for both new cabinets and retrofits, the Sentry System uses individual decentralized devices at each cabinet, which each connecting directly to the LAN and having their own IP address. The decentralized Sentry devices can be powered via power over Ethernet (PoE) directly from a PoE-enabled network switch.

Siemon’s V-Lock System is available with a server-based administration software platform to administer users, their cards and biometrics and manage user and group permissions. With features such as dual custody that requires two persons to authenticate and the ability to establish user access based on specific cabinets and time periods, V-Lock software supports the required security level for a wide range of environments. This software platform also provides real-time monitoring of all devices, including open/closed status, propped door or forced entry, and it can deliver alerts via email. The system maintains extensive logs of events and access for auditing purposes required for compliance, and it offers a partitioning feature to segment various customers for use in colocation environments where compatible. Handles can also connect to third-party access control systems.
