You will gain essential hands-on experience in how to research and define users,build and test low to high fidelity prototypes, understand how HCD and UX is
applied in digital products, and learn all of the key tools and frameworks for UXand product management roles to launch a successful career.
Course Outline
UX Design and Product Managementcombines problem solving, creativity,empathy, logic and technical skill to createdigital experiences that meet the needs ofcustomers and enable and maintain apositive connection to a company’s brand.
Throughout the course, students will learn allof the key aspects of the UX design process,including UX research, planning, design, andtesting. Students will also learn thefoundations of product managementincluding Scrum and Agile, providing themwith the core skills to work within technicalteams in a start up, agency, developmentteam environment.

User Experience (UX) Research
UX research is the foundation of all design processes, andthe skills taught in this module are an essential part in anyUX design or product management role. Students willlearn the key skills and tools required to be able tocomplete effective user research projects, and be ableapply these in a professional setting.
Human Centred Design for Web
Human Centred Design teaches students the processes toapply user-centric approaches to uncover insights anddevelop solutions that directly fulfil the customers coreneeds within the context of great digital products. Taughtby industry professionals, this course covers the keyprocesses needed in a UX Design or Product Managementrole.
Usability and Interaction Design
This module covers the key aspects of usability and UXwithin the context of modern interaction design, mobile-first and design of digital products. On completion of thiscourse, students will be able to apply the fundamentalprinciples of Usability to create highly usable digitalproducts in a UX, interaction design or productmanagement role.
Course Modules
Prototyping and User Testing
In this module students will learn how to design highlyusable apps and websites, applying the key principles ofusability, prototyping and user testing. Starting will buildand refine their designs into interactive prototypes, andlearn the techniques in research, usability and A/Btesting.
Fundamentals of Branding & Design
This module covers the core principles of what makesgreat design, including typography, branding, colourtheory and visual language. Designed and taught byexperienced industry professionals, students will learnby applying these principles to create their own brand,including logo, style guide, marketing materials andwebsite interface.
Product Management
Product Management forms the backbone of all digitaldelivery teams. These essential skills and processes areapplicable to all digital projects, whether developingwebsites, web-based apps or software. This module alsocovers the fundamentals of Agile and Scrum, and how toapply these in a professional setting.
