YOUR GUIDE TO CHANGING LIVES 2014 VOLUNTEER SCHEDULE PROJECTS IN ACTION The Anheuser-Busch Revitalization project was focused on neighborhood transformation; cleaning Rafael Rivera Park, revitalizing the Chuck Minker Sports Complex, a public trail, the Latin Chamber of Commerce Foundation building and Roy Martin Middle School. Volunteers painted fire hydrants, refinished floors, washed windows, removed graffiti, and picked up and cleaned landscaping. Beautifying a neighborhood has countless benefits from improving local business conditions, improving safety and morale and giving children and families a wonderful place to escape and bond. It has become an Anheuser-Busch tradition to hold a community service project at each of their national meetings. Norgren Kloehn, Inc. employees came together to make lasting impact on education. Volunteers assembled 500 book bags to encourage summer reading for children. With 117 employees volunteering a total of 468 hours, the Norgren team compiled book bags including three to four children’s books, a bookmark, a parent reading tip sheet, and an inspirational note. Norgren also held a book drive, contributing over 3,000 books to the effort. For Norgren, the volunteer opportunity was part of its “The IMI Way” code of doing business, stressing Integrity, Excellence and Innovation as their core values. Volunteers wrote notes to children inspiring them to read, and sorted and labeled 3,500 books. The book bags were distributed to 500 children at six Boys & Girls Clubs during the June 21 United Way Day of Action. Summer Reading Drive• Coordinate a book drive at your local workplace or donate books to the United Way’s book drive so that children in need can have access to books and learning.

“Conquer the Criterion Referenced Tests (C.R.T.’s) Survival Kits for Students”*• Volunteers assemble “survival” kits for students about to take their C.R.T.’s in school to let them know someone is rooting for them. Kits include a breakfast snack, test taking tips, and encouraging mementos meant to give them a lift and a vote of condence.• Volunteers can create personalized inspirational notes in their homes or workplace to be included in the kits to promote support to the students during the “big day” of C.R.T.’s.

IRS Certied Tax Preparers• Volunteers are trained and become IRS certied tax preparers so they may assist community members earning less than $52,000 with tax preparation at one of our many sites. Volunteers make this all happen by becoming trained, certied and helping to advocate on behalf of those ling. Tax Preparer training can be done online with a self paced training program or in the classroom.

Financially Fit Street Team• Volunteer Street Teams exercise their legs and their goodwill by canvassing low incom areas to distribute information on our Free Income Tax Preparation services. These services aid families making $52,000 or less by providing them access to IRS certied tax preparers who will provide a high quality tax preparation experience and aid in accessing unclaimed tax credits.

Teach Children To Save• Volunteers telegraph critically important financial lessons by being immersed in the elementary school setting and teaching young children how to save, budget and plan for their future through nancial literacy curriculum.

Coordinate a Dental Hygiene Drive or Create “Smile” Kits* • Collect toothbrushes, toothpaste, oss and toothbrush covers for children who do not have the basics.• Volunteers assemble dental hygiene “smile” kits at their workplace or at United Way and are included in the delivery of the kits.
