Between 1998 and 2002 shestudiedHumanMovementSciencesattheUniversityofGroningen.DuringthisperiodsheparticipatedintheAdaptedPhysicalActivitystudentmobilityprogramattheCatholicUniver-sityofLeuven,Belgium.AftershereceivedherMaster’sdegree,FiekestudiedMedicineattheUniversityofGroningenforwhichshereceivedherMedicaldegreein2008. Inthatyearshestartedworkingasatrainee inrehabilitationmedicineandresearch(AIOSKO)atthedepart-ment of RehabilitationMedicine of theAcademicMedical Center in Amsterdam and ReadeCenterforRehabilitationandRheumatology.DuringthistimeshecarriedoutherPhDproject‘Treatingfatigueinpost-poliosyndrome’whichwassupervisedbyprof.dr.FransNollet,prof.dr. Marianne de Visser, dr. Anita Beelen and dr. Merel Anne Brehm and resulted in the current doctoralthesis.FromNovember2015sheworksasaconsultantinRehabilitationMedicineandresearcherat thedepartmentofRehabilitationMedicineof theAcademicMedicalCenter inAmsterdam.

Eric, mijn begeleidingsgroep had bedacht dat de FACTS-2-PPS studiegroep niet versterkt ging worden met een onderzoeksassistent maar met een tweede promovendus. Een week voor ik ging starten met mijn opleiding heb ik jou ingewerkt om vervolgens een belangrijk deel van
