ABOUT US.

Uta Halee Academy is a female-specific, residential program that offers young women opportunities to build productive and meaningful futures for themselves and their communities.

Since we began operation in 2013, Uta Halee has evolved and grown, incorporating the latest research and evidence into our program model. Our understanding of the populations that we serve has helped develop our programming and provide a model that helps our young women attain their goals.

Our commitment to the mission of improving the lives of youth, families and communities has led to our recent campus ex-pansion, which now includes the Rite Way Shelter Program as well as the Life Tracks Transitional Living Program. This expansion has allowed us to provide better services and new opportunities for Nebraska’s youth.

Providing a Continuum of Care for Nebraska’s Young Women

Uta Halee Academy has broadened our continuum of care in order to offer additional opportunities and resources to Nebraska’s at-risk young women.

Through our experience with this population, we recognized a need for shelter and transitional living programs that would expand beyond the reach of our residential program offer-ings. Through these targeted approaches to care, Uta Halee Academy is able to further realize our mission of improving the lives of youth, families and communities.

Rite Way ShelterRite Way Shelter, Uta Halee’s enhanced shelter program, is a 12-bed program that provides a safe, structured environment for girls to reside while we work with their placing agencies to find suitable long-term placement.We offer educational programming on-site that is aligned with the student’s current education plan, case management services, structured evidence-based groups that focus on a cognitive behav-ioral approach and will work closely with each girl’s team to make sure all treatment goals are met and assistance is provided to aid in their transition.

Life Tracks Transitional LivingLife Tracks Transitional Living Program is a 6-bed program that is designed to prepare young women to transition back into the community. The program will focus on real life skill building such as budgeting, meal planning, time management, and professional development. The program also focuses on character develop-ment that will assist them in being productive members of society. Our goal is to provide the young women we serve with real world opportunities to practice the skills they develop under the support and guidance of caring individuals that can help troubleshoot and process day to day encounters.

Expanded Offerings

Residential ProgramUta Halee Academy is a residential program that serves young wom-en ages 13 through 18. The program features a gender-specific and trauma-informed approach that cultivates a culture of empowerment through unique opportunities and program elements. Both research into “promising approaches” in female responsive con-cepts and our experience helping young women shaped Uta Halee’s unique program. We use targeted, gender-specific practices, treat-ment and approaches to best serve the young women and help them overcome their pasts in order to build bright futures.Uta Halee serves young women displaying at-risk and delinquent be-haviors, and referred by child welfare agencies, juvenile courts as well as private sources. The Uta Halee Academy model offers an academic model with an open campus atmosphere that promotes diverse social and educational interactions essential to the compe-tency development of students. The model also encourages growth through the development and practice of skills that prepare students for successful transitions back into the community.
