rRECOGNITION CORNER
Choose Your Tickets Carefully....Going into our next meeting, the lucky winner of the raffle willhave a 1:2 chance at winning the pot-approx. $400.00!!!
Where's Your Horse, Stan?It looks as if Stan Walker was looking for an invite to RussLockner's Montana Ranch, when Stan showed up this week all"countryfied!"
The Pizza Party...The recent "pizza party" at Carl Jacobson's house is reported tohave been especially interesting, because they had to slice the pizzawith scissors! Archie Julian andRuss McCracken rewarded Carlwith custom pizza cutters- one shaped like a tricycle. Russ isoffering quite a"good deal" on the tricycle cutter for those ofyouwho might be short of pizzautensils.
Jack's Facts...
Speaker Jack Medina stirred up a lot of interest with his humoroustalk and demonstration about physical fitness and diet. Ifyou wereunable to attend our last meeting, you really missed an outstandingspeaker. However, you might be able to borrowsomeone'sbook...several of us purchased one.
If You Give A Rotarian A Cookie...Hoping to smooth things with the Sunrise Club, you may havenoticeda special cookie gift from The Doubletree this week. Bonappetit!!!

Mystery Rotarian
Have you ever gotten yourself into a fury and as a result, donesomething stupid? Our MR did; it was a'56 Plymouth and theonly car he ever wrecked (so says he). He also almost succeededin sinking a sailboat midway to Catalina at age 21.
Our MR is a self-made man of many vocations and interest whomakes someone like your writer, who had done the same damn jobfor 23 years, envious. An LA-native, he came to Santa Rosa in '66after Army reserves and worked for a short time as a beer salesmanand guide publisher, before going on to other ventures. He'smarried to his original true love and has never been sued.
An autograph from Paul Harris for anyone who knows this MR.
The Great Academic Brainwave Has Begun...According to Vicki Lockner, Rotarians have already responded tothis new concept of fund-raising for the benefit of Steele LaneSchool, by pledging on behalf of forty (40) students. If you havean interest in sponsoring these students in this academic venture, contact Vicki. The cost of sponsoring a child is $5.00.
Would You Be Interested In The Following...The Board is exploring the possibility of of purchasing SunriseRotary (logo) shirts, hats, etc. If anyone has any suggestions orleads in this exploration, please contact Russ McCracken.
