    Step 1

    Step 2 CK (Clinical Knowledge)

    The United States Medical Licensure Examinaon is a three-step exam for medical licensure in the US. It is sponsored by two non-profit organizaons The Federaon of State Medical Boards (FSMB) and The Naonal Board of Medical Examiners (NBME). Medical Graduates are required to pass this exam before being permied to pracce medicine in the United Sates.

    The Step 1 exam assesses basic science knowledge and the applicaon of the concepts in clinical scenarios. Students are eligible to take this exam aer compleng 2nd year of medical school.

    Step 2 is divided into two important exams:

    This exam assesses if medical students or graduates can apply medical knowledge and skills essenal to paent care under supervision.

    Step 2 CS (Clinical Skills)This exam uses standardized paents to test medical students and graduates on their ability to gather informaon, perform physical examinaon and communicaon skills.

    Step 3The Step 3 exam is the final in the USMLE series and emphasises on paent management. It assesses whether medical graduates can apply medical knowledge and understanding essenal to paent care without supervision.

    The Step 1 and 2CK exams can be given at Prometric Tesng Centers worldwide on appointment basis. The Step 2CS and Step 3 exams have to be taken in the US.
