Which Social Network?
Schedule your Class!
Make your Discussion Plan!
What to Discuss? As the group leader, you lead the conversation. Specific discussion topics will vary depending on your group’s focus & purpose.
Responding to a Post ● Everyone in the group is expected to respond● Response posts should extend the conversation● Response posts should address a specific part of
another member’s post or offer new ideas ● Optimal group size: five to fifteen
Group Specifics to Note● All members do not need to be online at the
same in order to contribute to the discussion. ● In case of disagreements, remind members to
be courteous and gracious with one another as different perspectives can make an interesting and engaging conversation.
Finishing the Group● Consider polling participants about their experience● When the class is finished, follow the directions to
delete the group page and general group information. ● Issue certification credit and certificate to participants
(template provided)
Follow-Up After Completion● After 2 or 3 courses, consider bringing your group
together to meet socially ● If you plan to lead a series, bring the participants
together for orientation and coffee- Bring a laptop so latecomers can sign up on the spot!
