Our approachDevelopment of a customised software tool for the Royal College of GPs• In 2011, Anthesis was commissioned to develop a customised version of

its Footprint Reporter™ software, to include piloting and testing with eight practices, as well as developing a supporting website and materials.

• Anthesis also conducted a survey and undertook high level evaluation of data within the software.

Footprint Reporter for GP’sFootprint Reporter was tailored to allow GP surgeries to capture their carbon footprint, without requiring complex data gathering processes. GP Footprint Reporter covers 6 categories:

– Business travel– Commuting– Patient travel– Utilities– Renewables– Supply Chain

These categories were based upon Defra’s Corporate Greenhouse Gas Reporting Guidelines and focus upon key areas of GHG emissions for a GP surgery, including both those within it’s direct control, and those that it can influence.
